Journeyperson. Journeypersons shall require a full scope of knowledge of all requirements of the trade to which assigned and will be expected to work on a team with other Skilled Tradespersons, to provide assistance and/or support and training as necessary to other members of the team to most efficiently complete job assignments. To be hired as a journeyperson, a person must have worked in the trade for at least eight (8) years or completed a satisfactory apprentice program in the trade. A Unifor journeyperson card shall be considered as proof of these requirements. Copies of any documents presented pursuant to meeting these requirements shall be provided to the Skilled Trades Committeeperson before hiring.
Journeyperson. 7.03 Preference of employment shall be granted to all indentured Apprentices in order to provide a reasonable opportunity for those indentured to complete their apprenticeship. Apprentices may be indentured to the Joint Labour Management Indentureship Committee or their employers.
Journeyperson. A journeyperson must be able to carry out any work in his/her trade as required by the Company with the aid of issued drawings or relevant information. Trades will be recognized as standard industrial trades. The following Journeyperson groups will be recognized as separate classifications: • Mechanic • Welder • Machinist • Electrician • Painter The Company will recognize Journeypersons hired with the appropriate British Columbia Tradesman Qualification tickets and/or Interprovincial Tickets, as Journeypersons and these Journeypersons shall start at the Journeyperson’s rate as listed in the Collective Agreement if their qualifications meet company standards.
Journeyperson. Documented evidence of performance within the construction sector for which total accumulative hours is 3,000 hours or greater.
Journeyperson. No Helper shall be upgraded to Journeyperson without the mutual consent of management and the Union. Helpers shall be subject to layoff before Journeypersons and Apprentices who are actively employed by the Employer in permanent or temporary positions. Shipyard Competent persons shall receive a ten percent (10%) per hour premium while performing such duties. All “hours” referred to herein means hours of work with the Employer in the classification indicated.
Journeyperson. A JOURNEYPERSON is defined as an individual who has completed the requirements at the Entry Level Journeyperson or graduated from a registered Apprenticeship Program in order to advance to Journeyperson status and demonstrates their proficiency as a mechanic to perform duties pertaining to the painting, decorating, wall covering, drywall finishing, sign painting, glass and glazing industry(s).
Journeyperson. A journeyperson must be able to carry out any work in his/her trade as required by the Company with the aid of issued drawings or relevant information. Trades will be recognized as standard industrial trades.
Journeyperson. Any person who has completed an apprenticeship satisfactory or who has been granted journeyperson status by reason of their past experience.
Journeyperson. Inside Wiremen shall do all wiring and installing of conduit to all signal systems, lights in buildings, on or in subways and bridges in all recreation and playgrounds whether temporary or permanent, and repairs to same, wiring for all motors and erection of same, wiring and repairs for all signal systems, wiring and repairs to wiring for language laboratories, and all channelling and cutting made necessary by the introduction of the foregoing. Employees covered by this Agreement shall perform such other similar duties reasonably required of them by the Director of Buildings.
Journeyperson. Notwithstanding the foregoing, effective May 22, 2016, the Employer shall endeavour to employ a ratio of at least one (1) Apprentice for every three (3) Journeypersons. Both such ratios shall apply company wide.
