Layovers. (a) When an employee is required to lay over away from his home terminal, layover pay shall commence following the fourteenth (14th) hour after the end of the run. If he is held beyond the fourteenth (14th) hour, he shall receive layover pay for each hour or fraction thereof held up to eight (8) hours in the first twenty-two (22) hours of layover period, commencing after the run ends. This pay shall be in addition to the pay to which the employee is entitled if he is put to work at any time within the twenty-two (22) hours after the run ends. The same principle, except pay for each hour or fraction thereof, shall apply to each succeeding eighteen (18) hours and layover pay shall commence after the tenth (10th) hour. When on compensable layover on Sundays and holidays there shall be a meal allowance of eightten dollars ($810.00); five (5) hours thereafter, another meal allowance of eightten dollars ($810.00), and five (5) hours later a third meal allowance of ninetwelve dollars and fifty cents ($12.009.50). No more than three meals will be allowed during any twenty-four (24) hour period. Also, employees shall receive eightten dollars ($108.00) meal allowance each time they are held beyond the seventeenth (17th) hour of the first layover period and after the tenth (10th) hour on subsequent layovers after the first.
Layovers. (a) Road drivers relieved from duty at a terminal or point away from home shall be dispatched on a trip within fourteen (14) hours after time of arrival. Drivers not dispatched in fourteen (14) hours after the time of arrival but held over, shall be paid for each hour of wait- ing time thereafter, not to exceed nine (9) hours in each succeeding twenty-four (24) hour period.

If driver is held over after the four- teenth (14th) hour he shall be guaranteed two (2) hours’ pay, in any event, for layover time. If he is held over more than two (2) hours, he shall receive layover pay for each hour held over up to eight (8) hours in the first twenty-two (22) hours of layover period, com- mencing after the run ends. The same principle shall apply to each succeeding eighteen (18) hours, and layover pay shall commence after the tenth (10th) hour. When on layover on Sundays and holidays there shall be a meal allowance of Seven Dollars and Fifty cents ($7.50) for the first meal; Seven Dollars and Fifty cents ($7.50) for the second meal; and Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7.50) for the third meal. No more than three (3) meals will be allowed during any 24 hour period. Also, employees shall receive meal allowance each time they are held beyond the sixteenth (16th) hour of the first layover period and after the tenth (10th) hour on subsequent layovers after the first. Driver shall not be compelled to report to work at home terminal until he has had ten (10) hours off-duty time. Whenever any Employer arbitrarily abuses the free time allowed in this Section, then this shall be considered to be a dispute and the same shall be handled in accordance with the grievance procedure set forth in this contract.
Layovers. Upon agreement of the Union or an individual basis, call times can be adjusted appropriately. The Union will not unreasonably deny requests from Employer to adjust reasonably the call-in times. APPENDIX D Schedule of Fees
Layovers. Drivers, Chauffeurs or Educational Assistants who have required layovers when they are not scheduled for duties for a continuous period of less than one (1) hour shall be paid at their regular rate for the layover time. They are to remain at their duty station, as determined by the Transportation Director during the layover. When scheduled layovers of one (1) hour or more are reduced to less than one (1) hour by the employee accepting additional work or performing other duties not regularly scheduled, the employee shall still go off the clock except while such additional work or other duties are performed, even when the actual layover time is then less than one (1) hour.
