Leave for Civic Duty. 41.1 The Employer shall grant leave with regular pay to any employee who is working their assigned shift for the period of time he/she is required to appear before a court, judge, justice, magistrate or coroner, as defendant or witness on any incident resulting from his/her normal RFA duties. If off-duty, the employee shall be paid overtime for the actual time spent or two (2) hours, whichever is greater. This section shall not apply if the employee is a witness adverse to the RFA.

Leave for Civic Duty. 15.1 The Board of Trustees will allow employees leave at full pay for civic duty required of the employee by law, such as jury duty or appearing as a witness in a legal proceeding. An employee who receives compensation for performing a civic duty will turn any compensation, less compensation for travel and meals, to the school district's business office within five (5) working days of receiving it.
