Leave of Absence for Executive Duties a) A teacher, being a member of the Association's Executive Committee or of the Executive Committee of any branch thereof or of any special committee of the Society or being appointed an official representative or a delegate of the Society, or any branch thereof, and being authorized by the Executive Committee of the Society to attend a meeting of the committee of which is a member or to act as a representative or delegate of the Society or of any branch of the Society in a matter of Society business requiring absence from school, shall have the right to attend such meeting or to act as such representative or delegate and shall be excused from school duties for either purpose or both purposes on not more than a total of five (5) teaching days in any school year provided that a satisfactory substitute can be secured and the cost of the substitute plus of the difference between such cost and of the teacher's salary is reimbursed to the Division by the Society or Association. A maximum of sixty (60) days in total may be taken for the purposes mentioned above during any school year by members of the Association. An additional forty (40) days of leave shall be granted for a member of the Provincial Executive at deduction. No additional leave of absence beyond five (5) days in a school year shall be taken for the purposes mentioned above, except with the consent and approval of the Board. A teacher, being a member of the Manitoba Teachers' Society Executive Committee, or being appointed an official representative or delegate of the Society to attend a meeting of the committee of which he or she is a member, or to act as a representativeor delegate of the Society or of any branch thereof in a matter of Society business requiring absence from school, shall have the right to attend such meeting and shall be excused from school duties for either purpose or both purposes for not more than a total of six (6) teaching days in any school year, provided that a substitute satisfactory to the Division can be secured. The Division is to pay the substitute teacher and Manitoba Teachers: Society for the cost of a substitute. No additional leave of absence beyond six (6) days for any individual in a school year shall be taken for the purposes mentioned above except with the consent and approval of the Division. In all cases the teacher shall notify the thereof prior to taking such a leave.

Leave of Absence for Executive Duties a) A teacher being a member of The Manitoba Teachers' Society Executive or of any branch thereof, or any special committee of the Society or branch thereof, and being authorized by the Executive Committee of the Society to attend a meeting of the Society in a matter of the Society business requiring absence from school, shall have the right to attend such meeting or to act as a representative or delegate and shall be excused from school duties for either purpose or both purposes on not more than a total of five (5) teaching days in any school year except the Association President who shall be allowed not more than a total of thirteen (13) teaching days in any school year. A maximum of thirty-eight (38) days in total may be taken for the purposes mentioned above during any school year by members of the Association inclusive of the President. A substitute teacher will be provided by the Division, and where provided, the cost of the substitute shall be borne by the Society.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations or be detrimental to the proficient operations of the Employer.

  • Leave of Absences A leave of absence, subject to the College’s discretion may be granted for a minimum of one term’s absence. All requests for a planned leave of absence from the College, for one term or more, must be submitted in writing to the relevant Head of School for approval at least one full term in advance of the commencement of the leave. The request must include the proposed dates of absence and the reason for the absence. The request can be granted only where all Tuition Fees and Charges and any other amounts owing to the College at the time of the request have been paid in full. For an approved leave of absence, 30% of the applicable Tuition Fees will be charged in advance as a holding fee to guarantee re-entry. This is non-refundable and not offset against future Tuition Fees. In addition to the holding fee, the notebook payout fee will be charged to your Family Account. During a leave of absence, the Student will be provided with a broad outline of the curriculum. A leave of absence will not be considered, nor will Tuition Fees or Charges be refunded where schoolwork is still provided, assessed and supervised and/or reports submitted. On a Student’s final day prior to commencing a leave of absence, any College issued device must be returned to the Centre for Computing and Communications (CCC). Should the parent(s) elect to retain the device throughout the leave of absence period, approval must be granted by the Principal. Upon approval, the full payout fee for the device will be charged.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE With respect to the Award, the Company may, in its sole discretion, determine that if you are on leave of absence for any reason you will not be considered as having terminated employment with the Company; however, your rights to the Restricted Stock Units during a leave of absence will be limited to the extent to which those rights were earned or vested when the leave of absence began.
