Additional Leave of Absence. The Employer may grant Leave of Absence without pay and without loss of seniority to any employee requesting such leave for good and sufficient cause, such request to be in writing and approved by the Employer. No leave of absence except as otherwise provided within this Agreement will be granted in excess of sixty working (60) days. Extended leaves of absence above and beyond the sixty working (60) days may be granted by the Company in writing. Seniority will not accrue in excess of sixty (60) working days
Additional Leave of Absence. This unpaid leave, which may not exceed thirty (30) calendar days, is for personal necessity and can be taken once every three (3) calendar years. This leave cannot be combined or used to extend other leaves that are covered under this agreement. All benefit time must be exhausted in order to be eligible for this additional leave of absence, unless the leave is for purposes for which sick leave could not be used, in which case, sick leave need not be exhausted. During this leave, the employee is responsible for his/her portion of all heath and fringe benefit premiums for the entire period of absence. Approval for this leave of absence may be granted by the Executive Director or his/her designee in his/her sole discretion.

Additional Leave of Absence. On the request of a teacher who has completed his/her probationary period, the Board shall extend the unpaid parental leave (a) for a teacher who commenced the leave on or prior to December 31 either (i) to August 31 of the school year in which the leave commenced; or (ii) to December 31 of the following school year whichever the teacher so requests; or, (b) for a teacher who commenced the leave after December 31 either (i) to August 31 of the school year in which the leave commenced; or (ii) to December 31 of the following school year; or (iii) to August 31 of the following school year, whichever the teacher so requests. (c) The leave of absence will be unpaid and the teacher will be required to pay the monthly cost of the premiums for all benefits for which the teacher is eligible, in advance of the unpaid leave, as a condition for participation in the said benefits plans. (d) Teachers who have been employed less than one (1) year and eleven (11) weeks with the Board before the estimated day of delivery shall not be eligible for an extended unpaid leave as per 19:11 (e) (i) and (ii) above.
