Leave, President, O. N.A. Upon application in writing by the Union on behalf of the nurse to the Employer, a leave of absence shall be granted to such nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association. There shall be no loss of service or seniority for a nurse during such leave of absence. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Employer of her or his intention to return to work at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of such return. Notwithstanding the above, the Employer and the Union may make alternate arrangements in respect to salary and benefit continuation.

Upon application in writing by the Association on behalf of the nurse to the Home, a leave of absence shall be granted to such nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association for a period of up to three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms. Notwithstanding Article 10.04, there shall be no loss of service or seniority during such leave of absence. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Home and the Association agrees to reimburse the Home in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Home of her intention to return to work at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of such return. The parties agree that if the return of the nurse results in the lay-off of a nurse in the bargaining unit the notice of lay off provisions in the collective agreement shall be waived.

There shall be no loss of service or seniority for a full-time employee during such leave of absence. There shall be no loss of service or seniority for a part- time employee during such leave of absence. It is understood that during such leave the employee shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The employee agrees to notify the Employer of her/his intention to return to work at least four (4) weeks prior to the date of such return. During such leaves of absence as set out in Article 12.03 (a) above, the nurse’s salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Local Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the daily rate of the nurse. There will be no loss of seniority or service during such leave of absence.

There shall be no loss of service or seniority for the employee during such leave of absence, and the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer. The Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits no later than one (1) month following the date that such costs are incurred by the Employer. In remitting, the Union shall provide a list of employees for whom remittances are being made along with their Social Insurance Numbers. It is understood, however, that during the leave of absence, the employee shall be deemed an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association, and not an employee of the Employer. The employee will provide the Employer with at least four (4) weeks’ notice prior to returning to her former position.
