Leaves for Association Business. If, at some future time, the duties of the President and/or other executive officer of the Association become a full-time position, a Leave of Absence shall be granted, on a full school year basis, for the duration of the term of Office. The leave shall be without loss of salary, benefits and seniority provided that the Association reimburses the Board for all costs. The Employee shall have the right to return to his/her former position and location for a period of up to two (2) years. If the leave extends beyond two (2) years, the Employee may return to a position through the Transfer and Surplus process.

Leaves for Association Business. A. Release time shall be granted when officers and other elected officials need to be absent from duty. The Employer shall be reimbursed for the substitute costs for the absent employee(s). This is not intended to apply to the release time referred to in Paragraph D.
Leaves for Association Business. Nurses elected to Association positions or selected by the Association to do work which takes them from their employment with the County for a lengthy period of time (generally more than thirty (30) calendar days), shall receive temporary leaves of absence, pursuant to the provisions hereof for Personal Leaves. One (1) member of the Association, employed in the bargaining unit and elected to a State Council or National Convention, shall be allowed normal working hours time off without loss of pay or status, to attend one such convention provided at least thirty (30) calendar days written notice is given to the Employer. All expenses incurred as a result of such attendance shall be the responsibility of the Nurse.
Leaves for Association Business. D-1 Two (2) weeks notice will be given by the Association when such leaves are requested. The number of nurses on such leave will not exceed one (1) full-time nurse and one (1) part-time nurse and one other nurse for a total of three (3) nurses from any unit at any one time, unless otherwise mutually agreed. The total leave of absence of all nurses granted under this clause shall not exceed sixty (60) days in a calendar year. A nurse who has a scheduled day off on a day that she is required to attend an Association function, will if she so requests, and where possible be granted an alternate day off without pay, providing she has given as much advance notice as possible and no less than two (2) weeks' notice. The original scheduled day off will then be treated as a leave of absence for Association business under 11.02. D-2 The Hospital shall endeavour to allow each nurse up to 22.5 paid hours for approved paid professional development activities days per calendar year. The nurse shall provide the hospital with as much notice as is practicable to ensure that replacement staff are provided.

The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Association agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Association. The Hospital will bill the local Association within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.

  • Association Business Duly authorized representatives of the Association shall be permitted to transact official Association business on school property at all reasonable times provided that such activities shall not interfere with normal school operations.
