LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. 23.01 Any employee who is an officer or member of the Association shall be granted leave of absence with pay for Association business, provided that the aggregate of all such leaves granted under this clause shall not exceed one hundred and fifty (150) working days in any calendar year. In computing the said one hundred and fifty (150) day period, leave of absence granted to any said officer or member for the purpose of negotiating with the Division shall not be counted. All such requests will be made by the Association in writing at least ten (10) days in advance, whenever possible. No additional leave of absence shall be taken for the above-mentioned purpose except with the consent of the Division. 23.02 In addition to the leaves of absence set out in 23.01 above, any employee of the Division elected or appointed to a full-time position in the Association, or any organization with which the Association becomes affiliated, will be granted a leave of absence with pay by the Division for a period of up to two (2) years. No more than two (2) employees will be on such leave of absence at any one time. 23.03 An employee shall retain all of her seniority rights with no decrease in status during her absence on a leave granted pursuant to this Article, and such period of absence will be counted as service with the Division. On return after a maximum of a two (2) year leave of this nature the employee shall have the option of returning to her previous position. An employee returning following a leave of this nature of more than two (2) years shall be placed in a comparable position with not less than the same wages and benefits. 23.04 Only employees who have completed their probationary period shall be eligible for leave of absence under this Article. 23.05 During the period an employee is on leave of absence under this Article, she shall remain eligible for promotion provided she is available to take the position when requested by the Division. 23.06 The Association shall reimburse the Division for all salary paid by the Division under 23.01 and for all salary and the Division's share of the cost of fringe benefits under 23.02. Payment shall be made by the Association by the 15th of the month following receipt by the Association of a statement from the Division covering the amounts to be so reimbursed.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. D-1 With reference to Article 11.02, there shall be leaves of absence not exceeding one hundred (100) working days in any one (1) year and not more than six (6) nurses shall be permitted to be absent at any one (1) time. Such six (6) nurses shall be from not less than three (3) nursing units. This includes full-time and part-time nurses.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. E.1 As provided for in the Central Agreement, the cumulative total leave of absence for Association business shall be thirty (30) days, including both full-time and part-time employees, during the calendar year and subject to the following conditions: (1) Requests for such leave shall be submitted in writing at least four (4) weeks in advance of the requested leave, except in cases of emergency; (2) No more than two (2) employees shall be absent at any one time; (3) No more than one (1) employee shall be absent from one area at any one time.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. D.1 Leave of absence for Association business shall be granted on the following conditions: (i) the aggregate number of days per year for full-time and part-time nurses shall not exceed forty (40) days; (ii) a written request for leave shall be made with a copy going to the Association at least fifteen (15) days prior to the commencement of the leave unless exceptional circumstances do not permit such notice; (iii) no more than two (2) nurses will be given leave for the same day unless the Chief Nursing Officer agrees that sufficient staff is available to ensure adequate staffing.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. E.1 Upon written request, leaves of absence for Association business shall be granted pursuant to the following provisions: (a) Adequate notice of at least two (2) weeks is given to the Hospital. (b) That not more than two (2) nurses from the hospital be absent at any one time. (c) That the total number of days in any one (1) calendar year for such leave for all nurses not exceed fifty (50). (d) In the event that a member of the Bargaining Unit is elected as a Local Coordinator of the Association the number of days shall be increased to eighty (80).
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. 12.01 Any leave under this section shall be granted only upon written application from the member to their Regional or Bureau Commander. Such applications shall describe the type of meeting for which leave of absence is requested. The Association will provide a monthly report to the Employer of days utilized for each of the provisions of this article. Leave-of-absence for the purpose of traveling to and attending meetings shall be granted without deduction from credits to three (3) delegates from each branch for the purpose of attending two (2) Association Executive Board Meetings each year as follows: a three (3) day meeting in the Spring and a three (3) day meeting in the Fall. In addition to the three (3) days leave, up to two (2) days leave of absence may be granted for necessary traveling time. 12.02 A leave-of-absence with pay may be granted to employees to assume full- time duties as Executive Officers of the Association. The salaries shall be determined by the Association and paid by the Government of Ontario as advised from time to time by the Association. Pension and benefits plans shall be calculated based on the salary for the Executive Officer. The Association shall reimburse the Government of Ontario for the salaries, the Government's share of the superannuation contribution, the premiums for all benefit and insurance plans and the cost of any other employee benefit or premium. All other benefits applicable to the employee so placed on leave shall apply. 12.03 A leave-of-absence with pay shall be granted to seven (7) employees to assume full-time duties as members of the Board of Directors and President of the Association. An additional leave of absence with pay shall be granted for one (1) employee to assume the full time duties of the position of Chief Administrative Officer of the Association in the event that this position is filled by an employee from a position in the Uniform or Civilian bargaining unit. Their salaries will be determined by the Association in consultation with the Employer and paid by the Government of Ontario as advised from time to time by the Association. Pension and benefits plans shall be calculated based on the salary of the Board of Directors, President, and Chief Administrative Officer, and all other benefits applicable to the employees placed on leave shall apply. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. E.01 Leave of absence for Association business shall be given subject to the efficient operation of the hospital, provided adequate notice is given. It is agreed that no more than two (2) nurses from the same program, shall be absent on such leave at the same time. Exceptions will be considered by the Hospital on a case-by-case basis. The Union will give a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice in advance when possible. E.02 The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence requested, in writing, by the individual elected to the position of Local Coordinator, subject to meeting the operational requirements of the Hospital, on the basis that such leaves will be requested as far in advance as possible, normally not less than two (2) weeks in advance, and shall be limited to fulfilling the duties of the position. (a) The Hospital shall provide the Bargaining Unit President with a paid leave of absence of two (2) days per month for the purpose of conducting Union business. The Bargaining Unit President will notify her manager two (2) weeks in advance of which days will be taken for Union leave. In the absence of the Bargaining Unit President, the Acting President may use the two days in reference. (b) Any request for paid leave beyond two (2) days per month is subject to the following conditions: (i) The hospital is willing to grant such paid leave where operationally feasible. (ii) Requests for this paid leave must be submitted in writing to the unit manager and Human Resources. A minimum of two weeks’ notice is required. (iii) Requests will identify reasons for the paid leave and will not cover individual employee issues that could be addressed by the Union Unit Representative.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. (a) A total of fifty (50) days leave of absence with pay will be granted those members, Civilian or Uniform, required to carry out official Association business each year. (b) The granting of time to meet the requirements of Article 4(a) shall only be with the approval of the Chief of Police. (c) A member who is elected to the Board of Directors of the Police Association of Ontario or the Canadian Police Association will be granted five (5) days leave of absence with pay to carry out those responsibilities to be used as part of the entitlement in the Uniform Agreement.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. Upon request to the Employer, a nurse who is elected or appointed to represent the Association at conventions or to attend Executive and Committee meetings of the Association, shall be allowed leave of absence with benefits for a maximum of twenty-five (25) days in any one (1) calendar year.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATION BUSINESS. During each school year, the Board shall grant nine (9) paid days of association business leave to LSA members for the purpose of attending OEA/NEA representative assemblies, OEA/NEA member lobby days, OEA/NEA educational seminars/workshops, and for collective bargaining. Requests for association leave shall be made at least five (5) working days in advance of requested days to the superintendent.
