Level I - Informal. A grievant will first discuss the grievance with the immediate supervisor
Level I - Informal. A. An employee and/or employee's representative with the employee's consent shall have the right to present a complaint and to have the complaint heard by the immediate supervisor no later than ten working days after the event giving rise to the complaint, or no later than ten working days after the employee knew or reasonably should have known of the event giving rise to the complaint.
B. The employee and/or employee representative with the employee's consent, whenever possible, shall attempt to resolve the complaint informally with the immediate supervisor.
C. The immediate supervisor shall provide an answer to the employee no later than ten working days after the Level I meeting.
D. A resolution of the complaint at the informal level shall not be precedent setting.
Level I - Informal i. Before filing a grievance, and within ten (10) days following knowledge of the act or condition which is the basis of the complaint, the grievant shall meet with their immediate supervisor to discuss the grievance and solve the problem at the lowest level, clarify issues, state the solution, and work cooperatively toward settlement. If the issue cannot be resolved, both parties can mutually agree to engage Human Resources to assist in obtaining successful resolution of the dispute.
Level I - Informal a. A teacher who has a grievance should first discuss the matter with his or her department chairman, principal, or supervisor to whom he or she is directly responsible in an effort to resolve the problem.
b. Grievants may be assisted by representatives of their choice in an effort to resolve the problem informally with the principal, or other appropriate administrators, or supervisors.
Level I - Informal. The aggrieved shall first identify and discuss the grievance with his/her immediate supervisor or Principal with the objective of resolving the matter informally. In meeting with his/her supervisor, the grievant shall inform the supervisor that he/she wishes to discuss a complaint upon which a formal grievance may be filed. The grievant may do this alone or with his/her Association representative
Level I - Informal. Within thirty (30) days of an event or condition that an individual considers a grievance, he/she shall discuss the problem with his/her Director. He/she may do this alone or with an Association representative.
Level I - Informal. A grievance should be discussed informally with the grievant's immediate supervisor or principal. Other administrators who have knowledge of the matter may be invited to the discussion.

If an employee believes there is a basis for a grievance, he/she must first discuss the matter with the Director or immediate supervisor in an effort to resolve the problem informally. Prior to the discussion, the employee shall submit a Notice of Informal Grievance on the form supplied (Appendix A).
