Long-term carer’s leave. Source: Paragraph 1.9 of Article 43 of the Collective Agreement for the Dutch Technical Wholesale Sector and Sections 5:9 to 5:14 of the Dutch Work and Care Act. When: If the employee’s partner, child or parent is life-threateningly ill and needs care. The employee is not eligible for this type of leave in case of a chronic illness, unless it is life-threatening. The employee may also apply for long-term carer’s leave if someone in his or her environment is ill or in need of help for a longer period of time, on condition that the care is necessary and that the employee is the only one who can provide this care. How long: Leave may not exceed six times the number of weekly working hours per period of twelve consecutive months. The twelve-month period commences on the first day on which the leave is taken. Salary: No salary will be paid for the hours of leave taken, but salary will be paid for the hours worked, of course.

Long-term carer’s leave. [AGREEMENT/REVISED] 47.1 Employees who make application may be granted by the Council up to two (2) years leave without pay to care for an immediate family member subject to the following conditions: 47.2 The employee shall have at least five (5) years continuous service at the time of taking the leave; 47.3 The employee must be the primary care-giver for the person concerned; 47.4 The ‘person concerned’ must be a member of the employee’s immediate family or household; 47.5 The employee shall, in their application, give the employer the name of the person requiring care and their relationship to the employee, their reasons for taking such leave including the degree of dependency required and anticipated length of absence; 47.6 Employees may work on an intermittent basis for the Council while on xxxxx’s leave by mutual agreement. The rate of pay will be based on the classification of the position to which the employee is so engaged; 47.7 Absence on carer’s leave shall not break the continuity of service of an employee but shall not be taken into account (other than when engaged as a casual) in calculating the period of service for any purpose; 47.8 An employee on xxxxx’s leave for up to three (3) months is entitled to the position which he or she held immediately before proceeding on carer’s leave; 47.9 An employee, upon returning to work after xxxxx’s leave of more than three (3) months duration, shall be entitled to a position at the same classification; 47.10 Xxxxx’s leave may be extended but under no circumstances will the absence on xxxxx’s leave extend beyond two (2) years; 47.11 Xxxxx’s leave shall not be taken `back to back’ with professional development leave; 47.12 An employee on xxxxx’s leave may terminate their employment at any time during the period of leave by notice in accordance with the Agreement.

  • Long Term Leave Any employee who declines a reappointment as a Teaching Assistant in order to interrupt his/her program of graduate study for a period not to exceed one (1) year will not jeopardize his/her consideration for reappointment under Article l3.03.

  • Long Term Care The City may offer an option for employees to purchase a new long-term care benefit for themselves and certain family members.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave 18.1 Entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave a) Paid personal leave will be available to an Employee (other than casual Employees) when they are absent due to: (i) personal illness or injury (sick leave); or (ii) for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires the Employee's care and support (carer's leave). b) The amount of personal leave to which an Employee is entitled is as follows: (i) Upon commencement of employment Employees will automatically be credited with 5 days Personal and/or Xxxxx’s leave. After 6 months of employment, the leave will begin to accrue progressively up until it reaches 10 days at the conclusion of 12 months employment. (ii) Once the Employee has completed one year of continuous employment, the Employee shall be credited with a further ten days personal leave entitlement at the beginning of the Employee's second and subsequent year, which subject to clause 18.1(f) hereof, shall commence on the anniversary of engagement. c) In any year unused personal leave accrues. d) An Employee will inform the Company of the Employee's inability to attend for duty, and need to take personal leave, as soon as practicable. e) An Employee shall prove to the Company's satisfaction that the Employee’s Personal/Xxxxx’s leave is/was justified. Such evidence may be a medical practitioner’s certificate, or a statutory declaration. An Employee will not be required to provide such evidence for single days of absence but only where two or more consecutive days of absence are taken. f) If an Employee’s employment is terminated by the Company and is re-engaged within a period of six months, then the Employee's unclaimed balance of sick leave shall continue from the date of re-engagement. In such case the Employee's next year of service will commence after a total of twelve months has been served with that Company excluding the period of interruption in service from the date of commencement of the previous period of employment or the anniversary of the commencement of the previous period of employment, as the case may be. g) Unpaid carer’s leave will be in accordance with the NES. 18.2 Immediate family or household a) The entitlement to use personal leave for the purpose of carer's or compassionate leave is subject to the person being either: (i) a member of the Employee's immediate family; or (ii) a member of the Employees' household. b) The term immediate family includes: (i) a spouse, de facto partner, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the Employee; or (ii) a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of a spouse or de facto partner of the Employee.

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.

  • Long Term Disability Insurance Plan The Employer shall provide a mutually acceptable long-term disability insurance plan, a copy of which shall appear in Appendix “A” – Long-Term Disability Insurance Plan. The plan shall provide post-probationary regular employees with salary continuation as per Appendix “A” until age sixty-five (65) in the event of a disability. The cost of the plan shall be borne by the Employer.

  • Unpaid Carer’s Leave 17.1 This clause applies to permanent and casual Employees. 17.2 Permanent and casual Employees are entitled to a period of up to 2 days unpaid carer's leave for each permissible occasion. A permissible occasion occurs when a member of the Employee's immediate family, as defined in clause 15.2.4, or household requires care or support because of a personal illness or injury or an unexpected emergency. 17.3 An Employee is expected to comply with the notice and documentation requirements under clause 15.3, to the extent to which they apply to the Employee. 17.4 A permanent Employee is only entitled to unpaid carer's leave if the Employee has exhausted all of their paid sick and paid xxxxx's leave entitlement.

  • Long-term Disability Coverage New employees may enroll in long-term disability insurance by their initial effective date of coverage. Employees who become eligible for insurance may enroll in long-term disability insurance within thirty (30) days of their initial effective date as defined in this Article, Section 5C. An employee who is insurance eligible and moves from a temporary position to a permanent position will be allowed to enroll in long-term disability coverage within thirty (30) days of the event without providing evidence of insurability. The terms are the same as for employees who wish to add/increase during the annual open enrollment. During open enrollment only, an employee may purchase long-term disability coverage that provides benefits of from three hundred dollars ($300) to seven thousand dollars ($7,000) per month, based on the employee's salary, commencing on the 181st calendar day of total disability, and not subject to evidence of insurability but with a limited term pre-existing condition exclusion. Employees should be aware that other wage replacement benefits, as described in the certificate of coverage (i.e., Social Security Disability, Minnesota State Retirement Disability, etc.), may result in a reduction of the monthly benefit levels purchased. In any event, the minimum is the greater of three hundred dollars ($300) or fifteen (15) percent of the amount purchased. The minimum benefit will not be reduced by any other wage replacement benefit. In the event that the employee becomes totally disabled before age seventy (70), the premiums on this benefit shall be waived.

  • Long-Term Compensation Including Stock Options, and Benefits, Deferred Compensation, and Expense Reimbursement.

  • Long Term Care Insurance The University offers full-time faculty the opportunity to purchase Long-Term Care Insurance through a voluntary Long-Term Care Insurance policy. Faculty members are responsible for 100% of the premium, which may be remitted through payroll deduction.

  • Long Term Disability Insurance The City shall provide to employees with six months continuous service a Long Term Disability (LTD) plan that provides, after a one hundred eighty (180) day elimination period, sixty percent (60%) salary (subject to integration) up to age sixty-five. Employees who receive payments under the LTD plan shall not be eligible to continue receiving payments under the City's Catastrophic Illness Program.
