MEAL BREAK AND REST PERIOD. 8.10.1 An employee shall not be required to work for more than five hours without a break for a meal. Provided that in cases where facilities are limited to the extent that meal breaks must be staggered and as a result it is not practicable for all employees to take a meal break within five hours an employee shall not be required to work for more than six hours without a meal break.

It is agreed that a further 15-minute paid break can be taken if the planned workday exceeds 10 hours in duration. An employee required to work overtime (including travelling time) for more than 2 hours without having been notified the previous day or earlier shall be allowed a paid meal break of 20 minutes and shall be supplied with a meal or paid a meal allowance of $25.00. An additional meal break will apply for every four-hour period the Employee is required to work after the first meal break is taken and a meal allowance will be paid.

  • Lunch and Rest Periods A. Each employee working more than four (4) hours per day shall be entitled to a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour duty free lunch period without pay.

  • Meal and Rest Periods (a) An employee working a daily shift up to and including five (5) hours will have one (1) paid rest period not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes.

  • Meal Periods and Rest Periods (a) Regular hours of work shall include, as scheduled by the Employer, two (2) rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes during each shift of seven and three- quarter (7 3/4) hours and exclude an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • Paid Rest Periods All Employees shall be given a paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in the first and second half of their daily shift in an area made available by the Employer. If mutually agreed to between the parties, the two (2) rest periods shall be combined.

  • Rest Period An employee who works overtime shall have at least a ten hour rest period between the end of ordinary hours on any one day and start of ordinary hours on the next day. If on the instructions of the employer, the employee resumes or continues work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, the employee shall be paid double time until he or she is released from duty for ten hour rest period. The employee shall then be entitled to be absent without loss of pay for ordinary working hours occurring during the ten hour rest period. In the case of shift workers, eight hours shall be substituted for ten hours when overtime is worked:
