Medical and Extended Health Insurance. Employees covered by this collective agreement shall be treated equally in taking coverage for themselves and their families. This coverage will be available to all employees on the first day of the month following the completion of their probationary period.

Medical and Extended Health Insurance. The Board agrees to pay 100% of the monthly premium cost of M.S.P., and Extended Health Benefits. 3. B.C.T.F. Salary Indemnity Plan - Employment Insurance/SIF Rebate The B.C.T.F. Salary Indemnity Plan paid fully by the employees, shall be a condition of employment for all teachers. The Board shall make salary deductions on behalf of the teachers. The Board shall remit monthly to the B.C.T.F. (Salary Indemnity Fund) 5/12 of the savings resulting from the employment insurance premium reduction.

In such cases, premiums shall be collected by payroll deduction. Such faculty shall be offered one opportunity to purchase these plans. Faculty opting to purchase these plans may not subsequently opt out during the course of active employment. 8.6.1.2 All faculty members who are participating in the basic MSP plan of B.C. and/or the Extended Health Benefit plan, upon completion of a period of active employment, may elect to continue coverage at their own expense (by post-dated cheques) for a period not to exceed seven (7) months, provided the College has given them a reasonable expectation of a subsequent contract. 8.6.1.3 Health and welfare benefits coverage will cease on the day that a faculty member’s employment terminates
Medical and Extended Health Insurance. 8.6.1 The parties recognize that the method of funding MSP has been changed from an individually paid premium system to a system funded by an employer paid payroll tax. If the government, at any time in the future, reverts to an individually paid premium system for basic medical insurance, the parties agree that the employer will pay 100% of the premium for employees on the same basis as exists in the 2014-2019 collective agreement. 8.6.1.1 Faculty employed on temporary contracts who are employed at less than one-half time and who wish to participate must purchase the Extended Health Benefit plan at their own expense.
