Teacher Meetings. There will be no less than one (1) faculty meeting per month.
Teacher Meetings. A. Teachers are expected to carry out their professional responsibilities by attending teacher meetings which exceed the normal teacher school day unless their absence from such meeting is approved in advance by the principal. Such approval for absence shall not be unreasonably withheld. Except in the event of an emergency, teacher meetings shall be scheduled on a regular basis, e.g., the second Monday of each month.
B. Except in emergency situations, there shall be no more than one (1) building meeting per month for teachers which extends beyond the normal school day for teachers. Except in emergency situations, no such meetings shall extend the teacher day by more than thirty (30) minutes K-4 and forty-five (45) minutes 5-12.
C. Teachers will be provided the opportunities for state mandated training during the school year. The cost of the training will be paid by the Board and attendance at this training will be voluntary. Teachers not taking advantage of these opportunities will still be required to receive the training at their own expense and on their own time. Professional development days for this training will not be permitted.
Teacher Meetings. It shall be the duty of the teacher to attend all meetings called by the Superintendent, Principal or Department Chairperson. Teachers will be given adequate notice of such meetings and meetings will be limited to two (2) per month, except for one month wherein the Principal may schedule three (3) per month, and except for emergency or other very important reasons as determined by the Administrator responsible. Said meetings will not be restricted in subject matter to be covered at the meeting, and shall not exceed ninety (90) minutes. Teachers shall attend a fall Open House in September or October lasting no more than two (2) hours. Additionally, high school teachers shall attend a second semester Open House in the months of January or February lasting no more than two (2) hours. During the month of the second semester Open House, one of the two faculty meetings may be cancelled, or, if held, must not exceed thirty (30) minutes.
1. Not more than twice a year, principals may plan a family outreach event outside of the school day, which does not require teacher planning or preparation, that teachers will attend in lieu of that month’s faculty meeting.
2. The building administrators and building Association delegates may, if they so choose, work collaboratively to schedule additional evening events. Teacher attendance at these additional events will not be mandatory. Teachers will not be required to attend meetings scheduled before school hours, unless an emergency situation requires such a meeting, or by agreement of all concerned.
Teacher Meetings a. Meetings called by the Board or Administration shall normally be preceded by no less than forty-eight (48) hour notice and shall not normally be held more frequently than two times per month, excluding meetings held in the case of emergencies. Prior to the last day of school, teachers will be notified of the normal day of the week for staff meetings during the following school year. No regular staff or curriculum meetings shall be scheduled by the administrators for before school or during the lunch period, except in emergency situations.
b. Grade level curriculum meetings shall not exceed sixty (60) minutes. The date will be chosen by each grade level team and will be reviewed and approved by the principal.
Teacher Meetings. A. Each teacher shall be required to attend a total of not more than twenty-eight (28) faculty, grade level or departmental meetings during the school year. Normally, such meetings shall not exceed one hour in duration. Notice of the faculty meetings for the school year shall be provided in September. Notice of grade level or departmental meetings shall be provided on a monthly basis except where there is an unforeseen need for a meeting. In cases of emergency, as determined by the principal or Superintendent, concerning such matters as the health or safety of students and professional personnel, additional meetings may be required. Unless excused by the Principal or Superintendent, attendance at all scheduled meetings shall be mandatory.
Teacher Meetings. The District shall make every reasonable effort to limit teacher meetings that reduce teachers' preparation time.
Teacher Meetings. Except in emergency situations, the Principal will establish the schedule for regularly scheduled faculty meetings. Meetings may be rescheduled when necessary with forty-eight (48) hours advance notice. Teacher meetings such as department, grade level etc. shall be held for reasonable lengths of time, but should not cause an undue hardship on the Teacher.
Teacher Meetings. 5.3.1 APSTA and the District recognize the importance of faculty meetings.
5.3.2 Meetings shall be specific to the affected staff.
5.3.3 APSTA representatives shall have an equal part in generating an agenda for meetings.
5.3.4 Attendance at those meetings where an agenda has been jointly developed may be required by mutual agreement between the building administration and APSTA representatives. Administrators reserve the right to call an emergency meeting where attendance may be required.
5.3.5 An evaluation form shall be developed by mutual agreement between the building administration and APSTA representatives and utilized for all faculty meetings.
Teacher Meetings. It shall be the duty of the teacher to attend all meetings called by the Superintendent/Director, Principal/Assistant Director, Vocational Director, or Head of Department. Teachers will be given timely written notice of any meetings called by the Superintendent/Director. Meetings will not exceed one
(1) hour in duration. A monthly notice of established meetings will be posted.
a. Teachers will be compensated for attendance at IEP Team Meetings held before or after the regular teacher work year or workday. Teachers will be compensated at the rate of $25.00 per hour. An event sign-in sheet will be used to document attendance and signed off by the Team Chairperson.
Teacher Meetings. 14-1 Teacher meetings shall be scheduled in advance at the beginning of the school year by the principal and the teachers. The total number of meetings shall not exceed ten (10) per year.
14-2 Teachers shall be notified at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of an emergency teachers' meeting and written notice shall be given to all teachers stating the nature of the emergency.
14-3 An agenda shall be prepared in advance of the regular teachers' meeting of the entire faculty by the principal and a committee of teachers. This agenda shall be distributed in advance to all teachers. Teachers' meetings shall be conducted by the principal or his/her designee in a manner that will encourage free participation by all teachers.
14-4 The Superintendent may chair one afternoon meeting immediately after school hours in each school to discuss matters with the teachers. Reasonable notification shall be given to the teachers.
