On-Call Rooms. University Hospital shall provide and maintain adequate on-call rooms for use by Housestaff Officers while on duty. All on-call rooms will be maintained in accordance with reasonable health and sanitation standards. University Hospital will make a reasonable effort not to require Housestaff Officers of different sexes to use the same on-call room, at the same time. Where on- call rooms are equipped with locks, the assigned Housestaff Officer will be given a key for the time of the room assignment. When on-call rooms are being repaired or facility construction renders them uninhabitable, the Hospital shall provide reasonable notice to the Union and identify comparable alternate rooms.
On-Call Rooms. A. The Public Health PHT shall provide on-call rooms, bathrooms, and shower facilities which are safe and secure and readily accessible to patient-care areas in all PHT facilities in which HSO rotate at night. The number of on-call rooms shall be sufficient for HSOs on duty at night. On-call rooms shall have functional locks and a key shall be issued to applicable HSOs. On-call rooms shall be properly maintained at least daily. Such maintenance shall include, but not be limited to: sufficient and clean blankets, pillows, linen and towels daily; on-call room bath- rooms and showers should be mopped and sanitized on a daily basis, and any plumbing or broken furniture issues shall be fixed upon notice to the Graduate Medical Education Department. Each on-call room shall have appropriate lighting, chair, working telephones, and a com- puter when feasible.
B. A list of on-call rooms shall be provided to the Union. The hospital shall not change those rooms without sufficient advance notice and discussion with the Union and without providing comparable or better facilities.
C. The HSO’s concerns regarding required improvements to on-call rooms shall be addressed during the monthly labor management meeting where there shall be representatives from the Graduate Med- ical Education Department and the Employee Labor Relations Depart- ment. Any emergency on-call room concerns may be raised outside of the monthly labor management meeting as well by contacting the Graduate Medical Education Department and the Employee Labor Relations Department. Examples of improvements to on-call rooms include, but are not limit- ed to, the following: replacing rooms housing more than four (4) on-call HSO; having as many of the designated on-call rooms as possible limited to a maximum of two HSO per room; ensuring gender privacy; providing lighting, work, and phone facilities that minimize sleep dis- ruption of roommates; and increasing the accessibility of in-hospital “(dummy)” computer terminals in or near on-call rooms.
On-Call Rooms. Resident will be entitled to utilize the designated on-call rooms provided by Broward Health to its residents when on-call.
On-Call Rooms a. The Hospital shall provide and maintain an adequate number of on-call rooms. The Hospital must notify CIR/SEIU of any change in the location of on-call rooms.
b. Should staffing or scheduling changes necessitate the addition or deletion of on- call rooms, the Hospital shall notify CIR and follow the criteria described in this Article. There shall be no more than two (2) Housestaff Officers per on-call room. There shall be sufficient rooms to allow separation of genders.
c. There shall be a telephone in each on-call room with access to local area codes. There shall be reasonably convenient access from on-call to bathroom facilities and shower facilities. The Hospital shall provide daily changes of bed linen and general housekeeping of on-call rooms. The Hospital shall provide a desk or table and a locker for each on-call room.
d. On-call rooms shall have functional locks and readily available keys.
e. The Hospital shall notify CIR of the Hospital staff member responsible for supervising the maintenance of on-call rooms. A list of on-call rooms and their locations shall be provided to CIR.
f. The third year resident call-room shall contain a computer with approved internet and intranet service.
On-Call Rooms. On-call rooms shall be available to male and female Resident Physicians when assigned to a required rotation. Rooms shall include a bed with bedding, blankets, and pillows, a bathroom (including shower), desk, chair, telephone, and bedside lighting. Wherever possible there shall only be one Resident or Intern assigned to each call room. AHS shall change the linen for all call room beds daily. Locks that can be operated from both inside and outside will be provided.
On-Call Rooms. The Medical Center shall provide and maintain safe sleep/rest quarters in conformance with ACGME requirements. The Medical Center shall notify the CIR/SEIU of any changes in the location of on-call rooms thirty (30) days prior to the implementation of the change. The Medical Center will work with the CIR/SEIU to resolve issues around the on-call rooms should they occur.
On-Call Rooms. The University, through agreement with the affiliated hospitals, will ensure that HSP is provided with appropriate on-call room facilities.
On-Call Rooms. 1. The Medical Center shall provide and maintain safe sleep/rest quarters in conformance with ACGME requirements. The Medical Center shall notify the CIR/SEIU of any changes in the location of on-call rooms thirty (30) days prior to the implementation of the change. On call rooms shall be cleaned on a daily basis and furniture shall be cleaned regularly and replaced when in disrepair. Phones, computers, air conditioning and heat shall be in working order. If something is not in working order, it will be a priority of the hospital to fix these things within 48 hours. The Hospital shall provide and post phone numbers for the appropriate person to contact in order to fix such problems. The Medical Center will work with the CIR/SEIU to resolve issues around the on-call rooms should they occur.
2. The hospital agrees to make best efforts to find and designate a lounge space for the exclusive use of House Staff Officers located in the main hospital complex. Once designated, the hospital agrees to make best efforts to include the following: Appropriate number of working phones and computers Microwave, refrigerator and coffee access Appropriate number of furnishings such as couches and chairs
3. The hospital agrees to make best efforts to provide coffee, tea, juice and healthy snacks (to include fruit, sandwiches, and an assortment of healthy pre-packaged food such as yogurt, breakfast bars, granola bars, cereal) to designated lounge space once daily after 4 PM for House Staff on overnight and call shifts.
4. Both parties agree that implementation of section 2 and 3 of this article will be done via joint committee which must consider and collaborate on barriers to implementation including but not limited to space constraints, current and future hospital construction projects, feasibility of implementation and cost.
On-Call Rooms. Fellow will be entitled to utilize the designated on-call rooms provided by Memorial to its Fellows when on-call.
On-Call Rooms. The Hospital shall provide and maintain an adequate number of on-call rooms in close proximity to patient care areas and where overhead pages and codes can be clearly heard. The Hospital shall endeavor to maintain lounges for the use of the House Staff Officers.
