Outside Experience. A. All teachers employed as of August 21, 2003 may be given credit on the salary schedule for full semesters of actual teaching experience in any public or private school. Teaching experience will be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Outside Experience. Credit for teaching or other related experience may be granted up to seven (7) steps on the salary schedule. For positions on the Michigan Department of Education Critical Shortage list, a maximum of sixteen (16) steps on the salary schedule may be granted, with consultation with LSFT president or designee. It is mutually understood that no later than August 15, 2021 the BOE and LSFT agree to draft language and protocols regarding the granting of steps for outside experience.
Outside Experience. The BOARD recognizes the advantage of having experienced teachers fill teaching vacancies that occur in the district. To that end, the BOARD agrees to post all vacancies with the MEA/NEA Local 1 office. The BOARD further agrees to give careful consideration to the applicants from MEA/NEA Local 1. A teacher who is hired with prior experience will be placed on a recognized step of the teachers’ salary schedule at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Outside Experience. Effective July 1, 2006, and not to be retroactive, the amount of outside teaching experience credit awarded at the time of employment, up to eight (8) years, shall be at the discretion of the Board of Education.

Outside Experience. The following shall be the formula for credit for teachers new to the District:
Outside Experience. The Board of Education shall have the right to grant outside experience to a new hire to the extent of the new hire's experience but not more than two (2) years. The granting or denial of outside experience shall not be a matter for the grievance procedure.
Outside Experience. At the discretion of the Superintendent and Executive Director of Human Resources, previous relevant experience of an applicant will be considered in placing new employee on the salary schedule.
Outside Experience. The Board recognizes the value of experience gained by bargaining unit members in other related employment and agrees that all bargaining unit members employed by Xxxxxxx-Xxx Public Schools for the first time may be put on the salary schedule at the step which properly reflects their related experience outside the system. This allowance may be made up to and including two (2) years of experience.
Outside Experience. 20.3.1 In employing new personnel, the maximum allowable credit for outside experience will be limited to: Ten (10) years of appropriate professional experience for 2018/2019. Eleven (11) years of appropriate professional experience for 2019/2020. Twelve (12) years of appropriate professional experience for 2020/2021. Thirteen (13) years of appropriate professional experience for 2021/2022. Fourteen (14) years of appropriate professional experience for 2022/2023. No adjustments of placement consideration for employees hired prior to June 30, 2019 will be made.
