Teaching Vacancies. 1 As teacher vacancies occur, they shall be posted on the District website.
Teaching Vacancies. 1. In the event of a vacancy occurring in a teaching position by reason of resignation, retirement, death, suspension, or creation of a new position, said initial vacancy shall be posted electronically by the Superintendent, or designee, for a period of at least five (5) working days before the position is filled. Positions which have been opened due to any authorized unpaid leave become postings when they occur in conjunction with any vacancy as described above and in conjunction with furloughs. No positions shall be posted until the official date of the resignation (date accepted by the School Board), retirement (as per Articles XVII and XVIII), or creation of a new position is effective.
2. All tenured teachers, or non-tenured teachers who have five satisfactory ratings and who are expected to receive a sixth satisfactory rating and are expected to receive tenure at the end of the school year, having the necessary certification for the vacant position, will be permitted to submit an application for the vacant position. Applications must be in written form and be received in the office of the Superintendent by 4:00 P.M. on the fifth working day that the position is posted. An application not timely received shall not be considered.
3. The vacant position shall be filled on the basis of seniority among the eligible applicants, as outlined in (2), above. The awarding of the position to an untenured teacher will be contingent upon that employee receiving tenure at the end of their third year.
4. This Article shall have no application where transfers are made as a result of suspension and/or realignment of professional employees pursuant to Section 1124 and 1125.1 of the School Code, in which event such tenure provisions of the School Code shall control. The Board shall not be required to award the position to the most senior applicant if doing so would necessitate the hiring of a new teacher or reinstating a furloughed teacher or furloughing a teacher, in which event the position shall be filled at the discretion of the Board.
5. An elementary teacher may not bid to a secondary vacancy unless the department in the secondary school is a department within the School District that the bidding teacher has taught in within the previous ten (10) years. Secondary teachers may not bid for a vacancy in the elementary school unless they have taught in the elementary school of the District within the previous ten (10) years.

Teaching Vacancies. All teaching vacancies shall be posted within the school teacher work areas as soon as officially opened by the Board.
Teaching Vacancies. 3.3.1. Teaching vacancies, for the ensuing school year, which occur after staffing will be posted online for ten (10) days.
3.3.2. Vacancies or new positions which occur after the opening of school will be posted for a period of five (5) business days. Any position vacated by transfer of a previously staffed position, after the opening of school, will not be posted. Postings of newly created positions will not be generated after the fall count day. Vacancies for the secondary level known prior to the beginning of the second semester will be posted.
3.3.3. Voluntary and involuntary transfers may be employed so as to eliminate the need for a new hire in filling a vacancy.
3.3.4. Teaching vacancies, of one period or less, which may occur during the course of the school year, i.e. special class offering during the normal school day, will be posted for a period of at least five school days.
3.3.5. If it becomes necessary, due to scheduling students, to begin a class offering prior to the timelines in the posting procedure then a substitute teacher will be hired until an applicant is hired.
Teaching Vacancies. A notice of vacancy in a position with the bargaining unit paying a salary differential or in a position on the administrator-supervisory level or in the summer school program shall be posted in each school. Teachers who desire to apply for such a vacancy shall submit an application in writing within the time limit specified on the notice. The Board agrees to give due consideration to the professional qualifications of all applicants and other relevant factors including the need to assure a well- balanced staff, the effective implementation of the educational program and the public welfare. The Board reserves the right to employ a person from outside the district.
Teaching Vacancies. 13.02.01 When new schools are to be opened, the Board shall post potential teaching vacancies, and invite applications for transfer.
13.02.02 The Board shall not be bound to accept only those applying for transfer, but agrees to consider all such applications when staffing the new school or schools.
13.02.03 The posting specified in 13.02.01 shall occur at least one teaching month prior to the scheduled opening of the new school or schools or no later than May 7th should the school(s) be scheduled to open at the beginning of the fall term.
