Overload Assignments. Any offering of the District which is appropriate to an established department shall be made known to all full-time professors within such department before scheduling the courses, and an overload assignment is one that exceeds 15 LHE or the equivalent load as defined in Article 10.G.8. All qualified full-time professors within a department shall have an equal opportunity for overload assignments. All overload and contract load assignments shall be made to full-time professors prior to the scheduling of the adjunct professors.
a. Regular professors may not displace adjunct professors after the first day of the semester except as necessary to meet contract load.
Overload Assignments. (a) An overload assignment is defined in 7.3(a) and 7.3(b).
(b) As compensation for an overload assignment, the faculty member shall receive 4.167% of the faculty member’s academic year rate of pay for each credit hour of overload assignment.
Overload Assignments. (a) An overload assignment is defined as the assignment of duties in excess of the faculty member’s full-time appointment.
(b) No faculty member shall be required to accept an overload assignment.
(c) An overload assignment shall be offered equitably and as appropriate to qualified faculty members in sufficient time to allow voluntary acceptance or rejection.
(d) The University Administration, at its discretion, may offer faculty members one of the following methods of compensation, or a choice between the two:
(1) Financial compensation of at least $2,000 per credit hour for the overload appointment; or
(2) In exceptional circumstances, an equitable reduction in teaching assignment in the following academic year.
(e) Monetary compensation for overload assignments shall be paid from OPS, not salary dollars. OPS payments do not qualify for retirement compensation or credit, and no retirement compensation shall be provided for the portions of the faculty member’s overload assignment made by OPS payment.
Overload Assignments. Distance education course assignments or workload equivalency for initial development or significant revision of distance education courses that are assigned as an overload assignment shall be compensated at the applicable overload compensation rate provided for in this Agreement.
Overload Assignments. 1. When a teacher accepts an additional daily class period on a regular basis beyond the normal teaching load it shall be considered an overload assignment.
2. Teachers shall be compensated as follows for an overload assignment.
a. Middle School – an additional one-sixth of salary schedule amount.
b. High School – an additional one-sixth of salary schedule amount.
3. Any Early Childhood or Elementary teacher who believes the makeup of classroom students is detrimental to the well-being of the classroom may request an overload review and should refer to the Memorandum of Understanding.

Overload Assignments. 1. It is understood and recognized that assignment to overload for additional compensation is not a regular expectation, not a right, and not an obligation of employment. It is also understood and recognized that programmatic need is a primary consideration in the assignment of courses and that expertise relevant to the programmatic need will often be a factor in determining the assignment of specific courses to be offered. To the extent possible within the above parameters, academic units should endeavor to distribute equitably these opportunities to work among members of the faculty. If a unit administrator determines the need for an overload assignment, the expectation of the parties to this Agreement is that every reasonable effort should be made to make the assignment available to continuing tenured and tenure-track faculty and then FTNTT Faculty members in the academic unit or resident at the campus at which the course is to be offered before assigning the course to a part-time or non-university faculty member.
2. Any overload assignment which exceeds one (1) additional course or three (3) additional workload hours shall be necessitated by extraordinary circumstances deriving from demonstrable programmatic need and shall be made only on the basis of a written recommendation and rationale from the academic unit administrator or Regional Campus Xxxx. In the case of departments or schools, such exceptions shall also require the explicit authorization of the College Xxxx. In the case of colleges without departments or schools, University Libraries and Regional Campuses such exceptions require the explicit authorization of the recommended exception by the Xxxxxxx or his/her designee.
3. A FTNTT Faculty member who is offered an overload assignment outside the academic unit or regional campus of his/her appointment will get approval from his/her unit administrator or regional campus xxxx prior to accepting any such assignment(s) in another academic unit(s) or at another campus(es). In addition, any such assignment(s) will be included on the FTNTT Faculty member’s workload statement.
Overload Assignments. An overload assignment occurs when a full-time classroom faculty member is assigned a load greater than the standard 15 LHE as described in section 6.8. In the event that a full-time faculty member is assigned 3 or greater LHE in excess of 15 LHE, the faculty member shall be entitled to overload pay for the 3 or greater LHE in excess of 15 LHE or the faculty member may bank the overload LHE in accordance with Article 21,
Overload Assignments. 5.6.1 During any regular semester/term, a Unit Member may, by mutual agreement, assume an overload in accordance with the provisions of Article 8. However, such overload shall be subject to preemption to complete regular contract workloads.
5.6.2 The overload teaching pay rates specified in Appendix B include compensation for ten (10) minutes of office hour time for consultation with students for each fifty (50) minutes of overload assignment time.
Overload Assignments. 7.6.1 During any regular semester/term, a Unit Member may, by mutual agreement, assume an overload in accordance with the provisions of Article 8. However, such overload shall be subject to preemption to complete regular contract workloads.
7.6.2 For the purpose of the Article, “overload” means a library-related assignment within the meaning of section 7.3.1 which exceeds the regular contract workload.
