OVERTIME HOURS AND RATES Overtime is the time worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week for employees scheduled in a seven (7) day work period, on one or more University jobs. All hours worked by an employee greater than twelve (12) consecutive hours in any work day shall be paid at time and one-half the employee's regular rate of pay. Compensation shall not be paid more than once for the same hours under any provision of this Agreement. Overtime worked with the prior approval of the supervisor shall be compensated by pay or by compensatory time off, at the option of the employee, unless payment in cash is prohibited by funding source or availability of funds as determined by the Department. Each department shall identify in writing more than one (1) person authorized to approve overtime. If payment of cash overtime is prohibited, the employee should be informed of that fact before working the overtime, or at the time of hire, or when funding source or availability of funds as determined by the Department requires a change in the compensation method. All employees shall be paid or receive compensatory time at time and one-half (1.5) the employee's regular rate for overtime as defined above. An employee may use compensatory time, subject to the approval of the supervisor, within a reasonable period of time after a request to do so, unless the use would unduly disrupt the operation of the Department. Requests to use compensatory time shall be given reasonable consideration. Departments have full discretion to limit (in accordance with written Department policy) the amount of compensatory time off that can be accumulated and the length of time a compensatory time off balance can be carried forward, except that maximum limits imposed by statute (i.e., 160 hours of straight time, 240 hours at time and one-half) will be strictly followed. Upon request of the employee and the approval of the Department, compensatory time may be cashed out. The payment for paid overtime shall be processed without undue delay when possible. Departments are encouraged to process all overtime in the pay period in which it was worked. Upon leaving the University or upon transferring from one Department of the University to another Department, an employee whose funding source does not prohibit a cash payment may cash out compensatory overtime on the following complete payroll abstract with fourteen (14) calendar days written notice.   • HOURS AND OVERTIME 3:1 A workweek is defined as seven (7) consecutive calendar days, from Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight. The basic workweek shall consist of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours each and shall begin Monday and run through Friday, except when a job other than for a public utility is to be done on Saturday, then the Company may assign another day as a non-workday and Saturdays becomes a workday in the basic workweek. An extended workweek shall begin at starting time Monday and continue until the next Monday starting time. The regular hours of work for all employees shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes which normally will be from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. provided, however, that the regular lunch period may be advance or delayed an hour or less when work must necessarily be performed during the regular lunch period. Such a change in the lunch period shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime. The regular hours of work may be changed by the Company at the request or direction of the public utility or governmental authorities, and by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. The Company may change the start times by 30 minutes in either direction of the regular start time to meet the operational need without union approval. Such a change in the regular hours of work shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Overtime Pay a) A casual employee shall be entitled to overtime pay in accordance with Article 27.05 in the following circumstances:

  • Weekly Overtime An Employee required to work in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for the first eight (8) hours of work in excess of the forty (40) hours and double time thereafter.

  • Planned Overtime In making planned overtime assignments the Employer shall first assign overtime on an equal opportunity basis according to each section’s procedure (Schedule E), as agreed to by the parties. Such overtime shall be assigned to employees who are actively on the payroll and who have indicated their willingness to accept overtime assignments according to section procedures and who are:

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Work Period; Overtime Pay The work period for overtime computation purposes shall be a seven (7) day period, as defined by the Employer. Nurses working this twelve (12) hour shift schedule shall be paid overtime compensation at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular rate of pay for the first two (2) hours after the end of the twelve (12) hour shift or for any hours worked beyond forty (40) hours in a seven (7) day period. If a nurse works more than two (2) consecutive hours beyond the end of the twelve (12) hour shift, all overtime hours after fourteen (14) consecutive hours of work for that shift shall be paid at double time (2x).

  • HOLIDAYS AND OVERTIME 4.11 All work performed outside of the regular scheduled working hours and on Saturdays, Sundays, and the following holidays: New Year's Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day (California only), Presidents Day (Nevada only), Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day (California only), Nevada Day (Nevada only), Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, and Christmas Day, or days celebrated as such, shall be paid for at double the regular straight-time rate of pay.
