HOLIDAYS AND HOLIDAY PAY 255. A holiday is calculated based on an eight-hour day. The following days are designated as holidays: January 1 ( New Year's Day) the third Monday in January (Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx.'s Birthday) the third Monday in February (President's Day) the last Monday in May (Memorial Day) July 4 (Independence Day) the first Monday in September (Labor Day) the second Monday in October (Columbus Day) November 11 (Veteran's Day) Thanksgiving Day the day after Thanksgiving December 25 (Christmas Day) 256. Provided further, if January 1, July 4, November 11 or December 25 falls on a Sunday, the Monday following is a holiday.
PAID HOLIDAYS (a) A full-time employee who otherwise qualifies hereunder shall receive the following paid holidays:
Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
