Designated Paid Holiday. (1) A regular or seasonal employee who is required to work on a designated paid holiday shall be compensated for hours worked at the rate of time and one-half (1½T) for the first four (4) hours and double time (2T) thereafter. This is in addition to the holiday pay provided for in Section 20.01(1). (2) A regular or seasonal employee who is required to work on a designated paid holiday following a day on which he/she worked and received overtime pay in accordance with Article 16.04 or Article 44.05(1) shall be compensated for the hours worked at the rate of double time (2T) for all time worked. This is in addition to the holiday pay provided in Section 20.01(1). (3) An on-call employee, other than an Emergency Medical Services shift work employee, who is required to work on a designated paid holiday, shall be compensated pursuant to Article 20.10(3) of this Agreement.

Designated Paid Holiday. (a) When a designated paid holiday falls on a non-scheduled working day, a part-time employee shall be reimbursed for that day on the basis of the average number of hours worked per day over a two (2)-week period immediately preceding a designated paid holiday. (b) When a designated paid holiday falls on a scheduled working day or is moved to a scheduled working day on which the employee is not required to work, a part-time employee shall be reimbursed for that day on the basis of the average number of hours worked per day over the two (2)-week period immediately preceding a designated paid holiday. (c) A part-time employee shall be paid for all hours worked on a designated paid holiday in accordance with Article 29.05 of this Collective Agreement. (d) Designated paid holidays referred to in this Article are those contained in Article 34.

Designated Paid Holiday. (a) Falling on non-scheduled working day: When a designated paid holiday falls on a non-scheduled working day, a regular part-time employee shall be reimbursed for that day on the basis of one-tenth of the number of regular hours worked in the two (2) week pay period immediately preceding the designated paid holiday; (b) Falling on a scheduled working day: When a designated paid holiday falls on a scheduled working day on which the employee is not required to work, a regular part-time employee shall be reimbursed for that day on the basis of one-tenth of the number of regular hours worked in the two (2) week pay period immediately preceding a designated paid holiday; (c) Work performed on a designated paid holiday: A regular part-time employee shall be paid for all hours worked on a designated paid holiday in accordance with Article 35 of this Collective Agreement; (d) Designated paid holidays referred to in this Article are those contained in Article 35.
Designated Paid Holiday. 5. Time worked on a designated paid holiday shall be compensated in accordance with clause 26.05. 6. A designated paid holiday shall account for seven (7) hours only.

  • DESIGNATED PAID HOLIDAYS Subject to clause the following days shall be designated paid holidays for employees:

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • PAID HOLIDAYS 12.01 The following days are recognized as holidays under this Agreement: New Year's Day Family Day Good Friday Easter Sunday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Boxing Day Christmas Day 12.02 Full-time employees required to work on a paid holiday shall have the option of either: (a) Pay at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's regular rate of pay for work performed on such holiday, in addition to the employee's regular pay, or (b) Pay at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's regular rate for work performed on such holiday and an alternate day off with pay at a time that is mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee. The alternate day off is to be taken within six (6) months after the holiday upon mutual agreement between the Employer and Employee. 12.03 If a paid holiday falls within a full-time employee’s normal schedule/rotation they shall have the option to either work the holiday with the appropriate pay or to request the holiday off, subject to operational requirements. Requests for the holiday off must be made prior to the work schedule being posted for that period. 12.04 In order to qualify for pay for a holiday, an employee shall complete her full shift on each of the scheduled working days immediately preceding and following the holiday concerned unless excused by the Employer or the employee was absent due to: (a) approved sick leave; (b) vacation granted by the Employer; (c) the employee's regular scheduled day off; (d) a paid leave of absence provided the employee is not otherwise compensated for the holiday. (a) Where a holiday falls on an employee's scheduled day off, an additional day off with pay will be scheduled at a mutually acceptable time. (b) Where a holiday falls during an employee's scheduled vacation period, her vacation shall be extended by one (1) day unless the employee and the Employer agree to schedule a different day off with pay. 12.06 A tour that begins or ends during the twenty-four (24) hour period of the above holidays, where the majority of hours worked falls within the holiday, shall be deemed to be work performed on the holiday for the full period of the tour.

  • Legal Holiday If the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.

  • Designated Holidays A part-time employee shall not be paid for the designated holidays but shall, instead be paid four decimal two five percent (4.25%) for all straight-time hours worked.

  • OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PAY 5.3.1 All hours worked by an employee in excess of eight (8) hours per shift and in excess of forty (40) straight time hours per week shall be paid for at the rate of one and one-half times the straight time rate. All hours worked by an employee in excess of ten (10) hours per shift and all hours worked on Sunday shall be paid at the rate of double the straight time rate. 5.3.2 Additional holidays recognized in the Construction Industry in each geographical area will be observed on all work covered by this Appendix.

  • Floating Holiday All employees except intermittent, emergency, and temporary employees shall also receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement. However, seasonal employees shall be eligible for only one (1) floating holiday per season and intermittent employees shall receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement if they complete ninety-one (91) working days in that fiscal year. Unless waived by the supervisor, the employee must request the floating holiday at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance. The Appointing Authority may limit the number of employees that may be absent on any given day subject to the operational needs of the Appointing Authority. Any conflicts for requested holidays shall be resolved on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. The Appointing Authority shall make a reasonable effort to approve the requested holiday. Floating holidays may not be accumulated. An employee who has not requested the floating holiday by March 1 of each fiscal year or by thirty (30) calendar days prior to the end of an employee's season shall be scheduled to take a floating holiday on a day chosen by the Appointing Authority or be paid for the floating holiday in cash at the option of the Appointing Authority.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential and Cost of Living Adjustment, if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Work on a Holiday Employees required to work on days recognized as holidays which fall within their regular work schedules shall be entitled, in addition to their regular monthly salary, to compensatory time off, or to be paid in cash as provided in Articles 32.1-32.5 (Overtime). Compensatory time off or cash paid for all time worked shall be at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½). The rate at which an employee shall be paid for working on a holiday shall not exceed the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) his/her straight time rate of pay.

  • HOLIDAYS AND HOLIDAY PAY 165. 1. A holiday is calculated based on an eight hour day. The following days are designated as holidays: January 1 ( New Year's Day) the third Monday in January (Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx.'s birthday) the third Monday in February (Presidents' Day) the last Monday in May (Memorial Day) July 4 (Independence Day) the first Monday in September (Labor Day) the second Monday in October (Columbus Day) November 11 (Veterans' Day) Thanksgiving Day the day after Thanksgiving December 25 (Christmas Day) 166. Provided further, if January 1, July 4, November 11 or December 25 falls on a Sunday, the Monday following is a holiday.
