Placement on Step. At the time of employment each employee shall be placed on the highest numbered step for which they qualify on the column for which they qualify. The employee may move to the next higher step for each subsequent year. Employees employed full time for one (1) full semester of a school year may be given credit for one (1) year of experience. The employee may not be placed at a step higher than the step in which they are qualified minus the steps “frozen” for current Maize employees. The Superintendent may grant credit on the salary schedule for up to seven (7) years of relevant industry, Peace Corps, National Teacher Corps, Vista, Armed Forces or similar experience instead of licensed experience.
Placement on Step. At the time of employment each teacher shall be placed in the highest numbered step for which he/she qualifies except as otherwise stated in Board policy. The teacher shall qualify for one step for each year of teaching experience. The teacher shall move to the next higher step for each subsequent year or major fraction thereof of teaching experience under a contract with the District, except as otherwise agreed.
Placement on Step. At the time of employment, the Board shall have the right to place a teacher on a step less than the actual number of years of teaching experience. (Placement for a teacher new to the district or returning after an absence from the district shall not be credited with more than 20 years of prior teaching experience.) The Board shall have the right to allow one step more than the actual number of years of teaching experience. The teacher qualifies for one higher step for each year of teaching experience under a contract with the District as provided on the salary schedule. Annual experience shall be defined as teaching experience from a Pre-K to Grade 12 accredited public or private school. (2005-06) (2006-07) (2007-08) (2013-14)
Placement on Step. At the time of initial employment, a teacher with prior teaching experience shall be placed on the step corresponding to the number of years of teaching experience in state accredited public and private schools for which state teacher certification is required. (2008) All teachers who teach at least one-half of the duty day as defined in Article 6 shall move vertically on the salary schedule, one step for each year in which they teach half time or more. Teachers who have taught for a full day as defined in Article 5 for one-half or more of the duty year as defined in Article 6 and teachers on extended contract who have taught for one-half or more of the appropriate individual contract shall be advanced one-half step on the appropriate column on the salary schedule. It is understood that teachers who have taught five (5) or fewer days less than the appropriate half year shall be considered to have taught for one-half year or more.
Placement on Step. During the 2022-2023 year, licensed professional staff shall be paid in accordance with the attached salary schedule. As used in said salary schedule, BS shall mean a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree; MS shall mean a Master of Science, Master of Arts or Equivalent degree. Hours shall mean semester hours earned by licensed staff subsequent to being awarded BS, BA or equivalent degree: provided further that in order for said hours to be counted for column placement on said salary schedule said hours must meet at least one of the following requirements.
Placement on Step. At the time of employment each teacher shall be placed on the numbered step for which he/she qualifies. The teacher shall qualify for each year of extended leave when such leave is expressly to be so counted in Section D, Article Ten (10), Leaves. Teachers employed in the district will be limited to move one experience step per· year. Beginning with the 2000-2001 school year, after reaching the MA+35 column, the first additional twelve (12) college credit hours will equal one-year experience if the teacher has been frozen.
Placement on Step. At the time of employment, each teacher shall be placed on the highest step for which he qualifies. The teacher shall qualify for one step for each year of teaching experience. The teacher shall move to the next highest step for each subsequent year of teaching experience. A part-time, full year contract salary shall be prorated by the FTE. A contract for less than a full year shall result in a one-half step advance. New teachers to the district will have the option of choosing to have their first year’s contract paid over 13 equal installments beginning with the first August of the contract.
Placement on Step. At the time of initial employment in USD 262 each teacher shall be placed on the highest number full step for which he/she is qualified. Partial years of experience will be rounded back to a full step when full credit for past experience is allowed. The teacher shall normally qualify for advancement of one step for each year of public school teaching experience outside of the district, rounded back to the nearest full step. However, the district reserves the right to make initial placement on a lower step if such experience was not contracted and/or is not recent. After initial placement on the teacher salary schedule, teachers shall move to the next highest full step for each contracted year of full or part time teaching in the district. In the event a teacher is hired by the district on a step lower than their previous year’s experience, the teacher will be advised of the reasons for this lower placement on the salary schedule.
Placement on Step. Initial placement on the salary schedule is negotiable, however, placement above the sixth step should normally not be expected. Initial step placement is not grievable.
Placement on Step. Placement for a teacher new to the Interlocal or returning after an absence from the Interlocal shall not be credited with more than 20 years of prior teaching experience. The Board shall have the right to allow one step more than the actual number of years of teaching experience. The teacher qualifies for one higher step for each year of teaching experience under a contract with the Interlocal as provided on the salary schedule. Placement of teachers new to the Interlocal will be made with no loss of experience if transferring from within the cooperating Districts. Annual experience shall be defined as teaching experience from a Pre-K to Grade 12 accredited public or private school.
