Political Activity Leave. 8.11.5.1 As citizens, faculty members have the same rights and responsibilities of free speech, thought, and action as all citizens. 8.11.5.2 Prior to formal public announcement of intended candidacy for a political office or an impending political appointment, a faculty member shall so inform, in writing, the faculty member’s department head or xxxx and the President of the University. 8.11.5.3 Faculty members who engage in political activity will be expected to meet all of the faculty members’ obligations unless leave of absence without pay is taken for the period involved. Such leave shall not count toward meeting the requirement for any probationary period. In the case of candidacy (including primary contests) for or election to a local or county office, the taking of a leave of absence without pay shall not be required unless the political activity interferes with the faculty member’s normal duties. In the case of candidacy for or election to a state or national office or position, a leave of absence without pay shall be required unless it is mutually agreed that the faculty member can continue to fulfill the faculty member’s University obligations. 8.11.5.4 University facilities and services are not to be used by faculty members running for political office or in campaigning for specific candidates. 8.11.5.5 For purposes of this contract, “Political Activity” shall denote candidacy for, election to, or appointment to a political position or office.

Political Activity Leave. The Board shall grant a leave to any Teacher to campaign for, or serve in, a public office. This leave shall not exceed one (1) year. A second year may be granted at the Board’s discretion.
Political Activity Leave. General information on political activities may be found in Policy GABH. Leaves shall be granted by the Board of Education for the following situations, using the following procedures:
Political Activity Leave. Employees who choose to run for political office will be granted and will take an unpaid leave of absence commencing thirty (30) days prior to the primary and/or general election. Employees elected to public office or selected to serve on a governmental commission will be granted an unpaid leave of absence for the initial term of office only.
Political Activity Leave. Any employee with at least one (1) year of seniority who is elected to a full-time public office, or who is a candidate for a full-time public office, may make written application for a leave of absence without pay, benefits, and seniority accumulation for the period of the first term of active service in such elective office, or during the time preceding elections in order to campaign for such office. An extension of such a leave of absence for service in elective public office may be granted by the University upon written application by the employee. 9.2.7.1 Such request must be made no less than thirty (30) days in advance in writing to the Head of Human Resources or designee. Exceptions may be made when it is not possible for such advance notice to be given.

A teacher seeking an extended leave of absence for campaigning, office holding, or other time-consuming responsibilities connected with government shall apply for such leave in writing. b. The Board shall give the teacher a written answer to a request for political leave. c. If the candidate is not elected, he/she shall be returned to his/her position immediately. d. Leaves of absence shall be arranged for a definite period of campaigning. e. Leaves of absence for the period of holding political office, because of the wide variance of demands on time, shall be arranged on an individual basis.
Political Activity Leave. 17.8.1 A unit member seeking an extended leave of absence for campaigning or office holding shall apply for such leave in writing. 17.8.2 Leave of absence shall be granted for a definite period of campaigning. If the candidate is not elected, they shall return to their position within ten (10) days. 17.8.3 Leave granted for the period of holding political office, because of the wide variance of the demands on time, shall be arranged on an individual basis. 17.8.4 Leave of absence without pay for political activities will be granted upon proper request and mutual agreement. 17.8.5 Such persons, while on leave, may be employed by the District to perform part-time service for such compensation as may be mutually agreed upon.

Political Activity Leave. A teacher, upon request, shall be granted leave without pay of not more than a semester, unless otherwise agreed to by the Superintendent, for the purpose of campaigning or for serving in a public office. No request for leave will be necessary when such activity does not interfere with a teacher contract. The teacher shall make a request for political activity leave prior to an announcement to campaign or to serve in a public office in which the teacher would be required to be absent from an assignment position.

  • Political Activities Grant funds cannot be used for the following activities: A. Grantees and their relevant sub-grantees or subcontractors are prohibited from using grant funds directly or indirectly for political purposes, including lobbying, advocating for legislation, campaigning for, endorsing, contributing to, or otherwise supporting political candidates or parties, and voter registration campaigns. Grantees may use private, or non-System Agency money or contributions for political purposes but may not charge to, or be reimbursed from, System Agency contracts or grants for the costs of such activities. D. As applicable, Grantee will comply with 31 USC § 1352, relating to the limitation on use of appropriated funds to influence certain Federal contracting and financial transactions.

  • Political Leave Any employee who is a declared candidate for public office shall have the right to a leave of absence without pay for a reasonable period to campaign for the election. Such leave is subject to the conditions governing special leaves of absence without pay contained herein.
