Program Reduction. 23.2.1 The reduction, reconfiguration or discontinuation of a program, facility, degree or area of the curriculum is a function of the College’s regular review of its resource allocation in light of student demand and the College’s mission and strategic plan.
23.2.2 The College will make reasonable efforts to plan any program reduction to minimize the need for reductions in force as a result. Regular faculty members affected by a program reduction will be offered the opportunity to transfer to another facility, program or area of the curriculum. If, as a result of any such transfers, it is necessary to reduce adjunct faculty positions, the deans will determine which adjunct positions will be subject to reduction in force based on curricular needs.
Program Reduction. 33.4.1 The Board may declare a program reduction only in accordance with the procedure set out in this clause.
33.4.2 If OC proposes to declare a program reduction as a result of a material loss of funding the Vice-President Education shall inform, in writing, the Education Council and the Association and provide a copy of the reasons and plan for reduction.
33.4.3 After notice has been given, OC shall form a Reduction Committee that shall evaluate the concerns raised by the Vice President Education. The Reduction Committee shall consist of:
a) two representatives appointed by the Association, b) two representatives appointed by OC, and c) the Vice-President Education as Chair.
33.4.4 No member of the Reduction Committee shall be a member of the program under consideration. An employee from the program or department affected by the proposed reduction shall be chosen by the committee to serve as a non-voting resource person for the committee.
33.4.5 The Reduction Committee shall meet within ten (10) working days of its appointment.
33.4.6 The Reduction Committee will assess whether the proposal for the program reduction is consistent with the extent of the material loss of funding given to OC for the support of the specific program or service in question. The committee will also address the impacts of program reduction on employees and recommend short and long-term actions that do not involve the redeployment or lay-off of employees.
33.4.7 Within thirty (30) working days of its first meeting, the Reduction Committee shall submit a written report to the President with copies to Education Council and the Association.
33.4.8 The Education Council shall have twenty (20) working days to provide comments on the Reduction Committee report and its implications.
33.4.9 The Education Council comments, the report of the Reduction Committee and any responses to it shall be forwarded to the Board.
33.4.10 The Board may decide to declare a program reduction involving the reduction of one or more positions upon receiving the advice of Education Council and after reviewing the report of the Reduction Committee and any other information it considers relevant.
Program Reduction. If Bridgeport School District finds it necessary to suspend an athletic activity due to lack of participation, or for budgetary reasons, the following procedures shall be in effect:
a. If, on the first day of practice, there are not sufficient athletes (See Appendix E) to field a team, Coaches will have two (2) weeks to encourage participation to the extent that a viable team can compete in WIAA sanctioned play. Coaches will hold practices for those students in the activity. If, at the end of the two (2) week period, the number of players required is not met, the District may drop the sport for the remainder of the school year per Athletic Director recommendation. Coaches will be paid per diem for the 10-day period.
b. If, during the season of any sport, participation drops to a level that prohibits league play, the District may declare the sport "on probation" for 10 school days during which time participants have the opportunity to turn out or to return to the team. Practice will continue during the 10 days. If at the end of the 10-day period, there are sufficient players to continue with the season, the District will lift the probationary status. If, at the end of the 10-day period a team still cannot compete due to lack of participation, the District may declare the season over for the remainder of the school year. Coaches’ salaries will be pro rated for shortened seasons.

23.2.2 The College will make reasonable efforts to plan any program reduction to minimize the need for reductions in force as a result. Regular faculty members affected by a program reduction will be offered the opportunity to transfer to another program, path or area of the College. Transfer offers will be determined by the appropriate xxxx, following discussion with the faculty member(s), based on curricular/staffing needs and faculty qualifications. If, as a result of any such transfers, it is necessary to reduce adjunct faculty positions, the deans will determine which adjunct positions will be subject to reduction in force based on curricular needs. Adjunct faculty in a program affected by a reduction will be non-renewed or, in the case of adjunct faculty on multi-year contracts, will be laid off with at least three (3) months’ notice.
Program Reduction. Program Reduction will be based on Paths of Study and Program. NO Regular Faculty will lose their faculty employment in a Program Reduction. Regular faculty affected by Program Reduction will be offered the opportunity to transfer to another path or area of the curriculum. Financial Exigency
1) The Agenda Committee and UFE will have 60 days to review and recommend alternatives to the TESC President’s Declaration of Exigency. The President will have to reveal the financial reasons behind the Declaration.
2) The rationale behind a RIF of any area must include evaluation on meeting the College Mission and serving underrepresented communities and students.
3) Voluntary Furloughs and PRC contract elimination are to occur before any RIF. UFE proposed throughout the bargain an alternative version of a faculty furlough, but TESC was firm in opposition.
4) Adjunct faculty on a multi-year contract who are terminated will have a three-month notice. Any regular and administrative faculty who are terminated will have a one-year final contract, not one quarter.
5) The RIF lists are prepared by OLY Day curricular areas and degree programs as identified in Article 5. For RIF purposes, Library faculty are disbursed through the Oly Day areas of the Curriculum. There is no one all-faculty list.
6) RIF lists by faculty status and seniority within areas remain.
7) Academic units are eliminated. Paths of Study are not used In RIF process.
Program Reduction. No permanent Adult School teacher shall be laid off nor shall he/she have his/her tenured hours reduced while any probationary Adult School teacher, hourly Adult School teacher, or contracted K-12 teacher is retained to render services which a permanent teacher is certificated/permitted and competent to teach.
Program Reduction the elimination or merger of degree programs, departments of instruction, or schools, which is a function of the College in its regular review of enrollments, departments and programs, resource allocation and strategic planning.
Program Reduction. In the event the Hospital chooses to close or reduce the number of Trainees in its Program, Hospital will:
1. whenever possible, fulfill its commitment to Trainees already training in the Program and not terminate Trainees in good academic standing prior to completion of their training; and
2. minimize any negative impact of GME reductions or program closures on the Trainees and on the quality of their education programs.

Program Reduction. CLOSURES In the event of program reduction or closure, Program will make every effort to inform Resident as soon as possible and to allow Resident to complete his or her training. Reductions will be made first from the number of incoming House staff. If financial exigency requires a program to be closed, Resident will be assisted in identifying and entering a program in which he or she can continue his or her training and education.
