We believe that it is important to actively recruit people who may be interested in our services. Going into 5 area schools to educate on STDs and contraceptives, getting out to area festivals to promote GYT, doing GYT activities with unique populations (Hispanic farm workers, bars, restaurants, schools), meeting with school personnel to discuss the importance of teen pregnancy prevention, running articles in the newspaper highlighting the importance of FPOS, and using Facebook and Twitter to deliver messages related to Family Planning are all ways we message the importance of our program. We have been welcomed into one of our local schools to offer a satellite clinic, which eases the burden of transportation. Letting clients review the billing sheets after each visit to see the charges and understand exactly the monetary cost of these services has proven beneficial. Word of mouth is powerful. PCHD is always looking for creative ways to market ourselves as the ‘experts’ in reproductive health.
