Public Safety Dispatchers. The classification of Public Safety Dispatch Trainee - G22, shall be the entry level for initial hire. After successful completion of a six (6) month training and probationary period, the employee will automatically move to the classification of Public Safety Dispatcher G23- Step 1, and will serve a new twelve (12) month probationary period.
Public Safety Dispatchers. A. Public Safety Dispatchers shall have two (2) paid break periods of fifteen (15) minutes each, and one (1) unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes, unless the Public Safety Dispatcher is working on his/her own, in which case the meal period shall be considered an “on-duty” paid meal period pursuant to Labor Code § 226.7, as amended, which shall require completion of an On-Duty Meal Period Agreement.
B. Public Safety Dispatchers have agreed to an alternate work schedule of four (4) days per week and ten (10) hours per day.
C. Public Safety Dispatchers shall be entitled to three (3) days off per work week.
D. Public Safety Dispatchers workdays and hours will be subject to modification in the event of emergency or other extenuating circumstances. Any changes to scheduled hours will be subject to Section 9.1.
Public Safety Dispatchers. 43.1 The relief Dispatcher is to be the least senior full-time dispatcher, unless a more senior Dispatcher volunteers for the relief assignment.
43.2 Pubiic Safety Dispatchers will not be required to perform matron duties.
43.3 The Town has the discretion to deny a switch of tour of duty. Each switch of tour of duty must be approved in writing prior to the actual switch. The dates/tours o f each switch must be specified at the time o f the request.

Public Safety Dispatchers. For Public Safety Dispatchers the retirement plans now in effect under the New York State Employees Retirement System (NYSERS) shall be continued. Upon the request of either party, the Employer and the Union agree to reopen contract negotiations on any early retirement incentive plan offered after January 1, 2010 to Public Safety Dispatchers by the New York State Employees Retirement System. Such re-opener shall be limited to negotiation of the retirement incentive plan alone, and shall affect no other provision of the collective bargaining agreement.
Public Safety Dispatchers. Section 29.1 Public safety dispatchers will not have seniority rights concerning shift preference since their established work schedule requires constant rotating shifts.
Public Safety Dispatchers. For purposes of the FLSA, a 480 hour cap shall apply to Dispatchers on compensatory time accumulation. All compensatory time shall, however, be subject to being paid off if not used within twenty-six (26) pay periods after it is earned, pursuant to Section 7.12.5.2 of this Agreement.
Public Safety Dispatchers. The initial probationary period shall be twelve (12) months for all full-time and part-time dispatchers.

E. Due to staffing shortages in Dispatch the parties agree to a temporary work schedule which will include two hours of scheduled overtime per day, in addition to the regular 10-hour workday. The schedule will be as follows:
a. One dispatcher working 6am to 4pm plus 2 hours of scheduled overtime until 6pm Sun-Wed; another dispatcher working the same hours Wed-Sat.
b. One dispatcher working 6pm to 4am plus 2 hours of scheduled overtime until 6am Sun-Wed; another dispatcher working the same hours Wed-Sat.
F. The Chief of Police can adjust the scheduled hours for the dispatch shifts to begin and end up to two hours later then specified above, after providing the minimum twenty-eight (28) day notice of schedule change.
G. The Parties believe that dispatchers would convert most of the scheduled overtime into comp time, which could be redeemed on the Wednesday overlap days. The parties agree to evaluate how this works out in a practical sense during the month of October 2021 to see if the schedule is effective.
H. In addition, the parties agree to continue exploring a dispatch schedule with 12-hour shifts that meets the needs of the Department and improves working conditions for the dispatchers. If the City and the Association can come to an agreement, on a schedule different than that described above, it would be implemented on a trial basis for one year to evaluate its effectiveness.
I. If the Chief of Police determines the schedule is not effective at meeting the needs of the department, then dispatch will be returned to the current 10-hour schedule without the scheduled overtime.
J. The parties agree to meet and confer regarding a Public Safety Dispatche...
Public Safety Dispatchers. Vacation selection shall be made by request to the Communications Supervisor at the beginning of each calendar year and shall be based upon seniority. Not more than two (2) Public Safety Dispatchers shall sign up for vacation at any one time and the duration of such vacation shall not exceed two (2) work weeks, in addition to Regular Days Off (RDOs) on both ends of those work weeks. The RDOs on both ends of the work week may not be taken as part of the Employee’s vacation selection if two other dispatchers have already selected them.
