Retirement Service Credit. Employees may use 75% of their unused accrued sick leave balance toward retirement service credit.
Retirement Service Credit. 14.9.1 Due to the reduced salary, recipients of a one-year (or two semester) sabbatical leave will not receive a full year of STRS/PERS retirement service credit for the academic year(s) in which the sabbatical is taken. Sabbatical recipients may purchase the “lost” service credit after completion of the sabbatical leave by paying the required contribution to the retirement system. The district will pay the employer portion of the required contribution, subject to the following:
14.9.1.1 Within six (6) months of completion of the sabbatical leave, the Unit Member must notify the District Office of Human Resources in writing of the Unit Member’s intent to purchase the service credit to the appropriate retirement system.
14.9.1.2 An invoice from the appropriate retirement system must be submitted to the District Office of Human Resources not later than June 30 of the academic year following the academic year in which the sabbatical was completed.
14.9.1.3 If the above requirements are not met, the entire cost of purchasing the service credit must be borne by the Unit Member.
Retirement Service Credit. The parties agree that employee service credit to be reported to the Michigan Public Employees Retirement System shall be based on actual hours worked.
Retirement Service Credit. The unit member shall receive eighty-five percent (85%) of his/her regular credit for service credited with the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) or California State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). The unit member may, however, arrange to make a contribution to PERS or STRS to ensure full service credit for the period of the leave as provided by PERS or STRS regulations.
Retirement Service Credit. The parties agree that employee service credit to be reported to the Michigan Public Employees Retirement System shall be based on actual hours worked. ***Sports Bidding can be found on page 13.
Retirement Service Credit. Time shall be credited for retirement purposes as governed by the policies of the State Teachers’ Retirement System. The faculty member’s contribution will be deducted in proportion to the salary received.
Retirement Service Credit. (a) Employees who retire under the Kent County Retirement Plan on or after January 1, 2009 (other than a deferred retirement) who as of the date of the retirement have unused sick leave shall receive pension service credit for all unused sick leave time.
(b) Employees hired on or after July 1, 2016 will have a Retirement Bonus Bank for unused paid time off as provided in Section 13.7 Hours in the Retirement Bonus Bank have no cash value and can only be used for pension service credit. Employees who retire under the Kent County Retirement Plan (other than a deferred retirement) will receive pension service credit for all hours in their Retirement Bonus Bank at the time of retirement.
(c) Hours under (a) and (b) above cannot be used for retirement serviceeligibility.
Retirement Service Credit. 18 14.9.1 The purpose of this provision shall be to provide for a partial leave, during the 19 school year, permitting study, travel, or the completion of a special project which 20 will benefit the schools and pupils of the Employer. Unit members that have 21 been granted said reduction shall, upon request of the Employer, provide a copy 22 of their completed project or other documentation related to their study or travel.
23 14.9.2 Eligible unit members must have reached the age of 55 prior to said reduction in 24 work load.

Retirement Service Credit. An employee retiring under the provision of the PERS contract with the County may apply all of the employee’s unused sick leave accrued at the time of retirement as service credits under PERS. Any employee may at his/her option convert accrued sick leave hours at the employee’s current pay rate up to a maximum of $1,500. Any remaining sick leave may be used for PERS service.
