Xxxxxxxx: Xxxx Engineering, Inc. (Xxxx) is pleased to present this proposal to provide geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing, engineering analyses, and recommendations for the Phase II engineering services for the proposed replacement of the bridge carrying Xxxxxxx Road Bridge over Xxxxxx Creek, in Oswego, Kendall County, Illinois. Xxxx prepared a structure geotechnical report (SGR) during Phase I design. This proposal is for a roadway geotechnical roadway report (RGR) and preliminary environmental site assessment for soil disposal. The following describes our proposed scope of work, cost estimate, and assumptions made in developing the cost estimate.
Roadway Plans. 1. Unless instructed otherwise by the Project Manager, Conceptual Roadway Plans will be limited to the Title Sheet(s), Typical Sections, and Plan-Profile Sheets. If specified in the Work Assignment, a Preliminary Traffic Control Plan and phase construction details shall be included to ensure that traffic can be maintained and the project is constructable as proposed. If specified in the Work Assignment, conceptual permanent signing and striping plans shall be required.
2. For Work Assignments that include grade separations, the CONSULTANT may be required to conduct an over/under analysis at each grade separation to determine the most cost-effective solution as to which route is to be bridged. Factors to be considered include, but are not limited to, Right-of-Way acquisition, maintenance of traffic, bridge cost, existing elevations at both proposed roadways, and constructability.
3. For Work Assignments that include design of new or reconstructed interchanges, the CONSULTANT shall include all applicable horizontal and vertical alignment information of the interchange.
4. For Work Assignments that require local road improvements to be made as a result of the primary purpose of the project, the CONSULTANT shall investigate all local roads within the project limits to determine the appropriate approach to reconstructing the local roads to an acceptable design while keeping additional costs to a minimum. Factors to be considered include, but are not limited to, intersection sight distance, angle of intersection, offset intersections, and crossover spacing.
5. For Work Assignments that include local roads to be reconstructed as the primary purpose of the project, the CONSULTANT shall investigate the local roads to determine the appropriate approach to reconstruct the local roads to an acceptable design to meet the goals of the project. Factors to be considered include, but are not limited to, intersection sight distance, angle of intersection, offset intersections, and crossover spacing.
6. For Work Assignments that include lighting, the CONSULTANT shall provide a lighting plan to determine the most effective means of lighting the roadway to achieve the desired lighting levels. The Conceptual Plans shall show the location of the proposed lighting assemblies and provide information for MDOT’s review. Roadway Plans. The Roadway Expansion will be designed by the City Engineer, or such other engineer as is selected by the City, in accordinace with applicable rules and regulations. Upon completion of the preliminary plans and specifications for the Roadway Expansion (the “Roadway Plans”), the City Engineer will submit a set of the Roadway Plans to Developer for review. Developer may, at its election, provide a written request to the City specifically identifying any requested additions to the Roadway Plans, which may include a deceleration lane into or other improvements serving the Development, within thirty (30) days of receipt. If Developer fails to provide such written request within this thirty (30)-day period, Developer will be deemed to have requested no additions to the Roadway Plans. In the event that Developer does timely request additions to the Roadway Plans as set forth herein, the City agrees to cooperate with Developer to agree on modifications to the Roadway Plans, provided that the City and Developer will enter into a cost sharing agreement pursuant to which Developer will fund all costs incurred by the City in connection with the design, permitting and construction of such additions.
Roadway Plans. The plans and specifications for improvements to Olympia Drive prepared by Tenant and approved by Landlord, entitled “Olympia Drive Plan,” prepared by Xxxxxx & Associates, Inc., dated July 20, 2012, included as Sheets C8 and C9 of the Approved Plans, a copy of which plans and specifications are on file with Landlord, Tenant, and the Amherst Town Clerk.
