SCHOOL CALENDAR AND SCHOOL DAY. SECTION 1: The working day shall be 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for a minimum of 1,312 working hours per year between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2012 for all employees. SECTION 2: All bargaining unit members are entitled to one-half (½) hour paid duty-free lunch break daily as mutually scheduled by the Principal and staff. When staff are working during their lunch break, they will be compensated an additional 30 minutes. SECTION 3: Any alternate or modified work schedules must be pre-approved in writing by the Director of Special Education or his/her designate.

SCHOOL CALENDAR AND SCHOOL DAY. A. Except as provided in B (below), the regular calendar year shall consist of one hundred seventy- seven (177) working days. (169 of these working days shall be instructional.) B. All new teachers to the District, who have not met the professional development day requirements, will complete the required work within the time constraints of the revised School Code and with no additional compensation beyond the current salary schedule. SECTION 2: The working day shall be from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seven (7) hours and forty-five (45) minutes, or an equivalent number of hours per week as determined by the Board for all staff. The Association agrees that, as in the past, employees shall continue to serve the needs of students beyond the times designated above and also to attend staff meetings which extend beyond the end of the working day. If the meeting is to continue beyond the normal working day, prior notice of two (2) days will be given the staff members affected. The Director of Special Education or his Designate may excuse an employee from the attendance for just cause. Such excuse shall be in writing. SECTION 3: All staff are entitled to a one-half (1/2) hour duty-free lunch each day except in extenuating circumstances. Lunch period time and/or duration changes may be given consideration with mutual consent of the administration and employee for those employees who offer, on a regular basis, direct educational and/or therapeutic services, but not diagnostic services, to children in local district classroom programs. SECTION 4: All non-classroom employees will be dismissed one (1) hour early on the working day immediately preceding winter break, spring break, and Thanksgiving. Classroom staff will be dismissed when the students have boarded the buses. SECTION 5: An employee may request work hours different than the normal working day during the regular 177 day work year by submitting a written request to the Director of Special Education or his/her Designate not less than twenty (20) calendar days in advance except in extenuating circumstances.   • School Calendar The Dual Credit course schedule will be determined by the location of the course delivery, provided that the required contact hours and prerequisites are met. The instructional calendar for the high school portion of the School will be based on the School District calendar and comply with all related TEA regulations for school attendance. The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.

  • ALTERNATE SCHOOL CALENDAR 1. In this article, an alternative school calendar is a school calendar that differs from the standard school calendar as specified in Schedule 1 (Supplement) of the School Calendar Regulation 114/02. 2. When a school district intends to implement an alternate school calendar, written notification shall be provided to the local no later than forty (40) working days prior to its implementation. The employer and the local shall meet within five (5) working days following receipt of such notice to negotiate modifications to the provisions of the agreement that are directly or indirectly affected by the proposed change(s). The aforesaid modifications shall preserve, to the full legal extent possible, the original intent of the agreement. 3. The process outlined below in Article D.6.4 through Article D.

  • School Day The school day for members of the bargaining unit shall not exceed seven and one-half (7½) hours of consecutive time which shall include a duty-free, uninterrupted lunch period of no less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • Academic Calendar The academic calendar of each university shall be established by the President. Prior to establishing or making changes in the calendar, the President/designee shall afford opportunity to meet and confer with the Association.

  • Elementary School At the request of the Superintendent, elementary school teachers that teach all the student contact time on a daily basis will be paid for an additional hour at an hourly rate based upon their contractual daily rate of pay for a maximum of 180 days. Teachers will not be required to spend additional time beyond their regular day. All scheduling options must have been exhausted before an administrator will receive permission for this variance. The appeal process for this variance is defined in the Staffing Plan.

  • Length of School Day 4.4.1 For each school the length of the “school day” shall be determined according to the requirement that students are normally required to be in attendance for two HD, one before noon, the other after noon. 4.4.2 The normal teaching load in respect of any one day is therefore related to that requirement and takes account of the normal timetabling practices of each school.

  • Elementary Schools A. Each classroom shall have one text per child when the subject is being taught. Future textbook adoptions will include appropriate supplementary materials when those materials are recommended by the adoption committee. Any consumables or supplementary materials adopted shall be distributed according to the committee’s recommendation prior to implementing the adoption. When adopted, consumables, such as workbooks, will be distributed to each child before required usage of the materials. The joint Curriculum Committee shall be consulted prior to the discontinuance of such materials. (See Article XXVI). Newly employed teachers and all teachers who transfer to a new teaching assignment will be provided appropriate desk top supplies and Board adopted curriculum materials. If a teacher is transferring into a newly created classroom, appropriate furniture will be provided. The parties have agreed to an inventory (reference Appendix Z) of supplies, materials, and furniture. A teacher who is not provided the core inventory by September 1 or within thirty (30) days of assignment shall be entitled to appeal directly through the Federation to the appropriate Transformational Leader or his/her designee. B. Each child found to be without adequate health care, where immediate medical attention is needed, shall be referred by the Board to the appropriate social agency upon notification by the teacher. The teacher shall receive written confirmation of the referral within ten (10) school days. C. No teacher shall be required to supervise or be present in the dining area during a local, state or federal breakfast or lunch program. Such instructional time used for said programs shall be considered planning time for the teacher, at a place of his/her choice, within the building. D. No elementary teacher shall be assigned to teach in an area outside his/her certification, subject to Article IV, G- 4. E. Cafeteria duty shall be voluntary when service is performed by a teacher. F. No bus or other additional duties shall be assigned to an elementary teacher outside the six hour and fifteen minute duty day. G. Elementary teachers shall not be required to be present when other teachers are responsible for presenting materials to the class. If a demonstration lesson is requested by the teacher, he/she will be required to be present. Such requests shall be initiated by the teacher. H. Teachers in bilingual classes shall be capable of teaching in both languages when those bilingual teachers can be found. Volunteers, paraprofessionals or casual employees shall be prohibited from supplanting a teacher in bilingual or ESL programs. However, a paraprofessional ELDP tutor may be used to work under the direction of a regular teacher in the bargaining unit to assist those students who need reinforcement in English for less than a full class day. Regular contract teachers who will agree to obtain certification for bilingual or ESL classes shall be employed or used when teachers with fluency in two or more languages cannot be found. Consultants in these programs shall not replace or displace a teacher. I. Student test results for each elementary school shall be made available on a timely basis for achievement and other Ohio mandated tests and standardized tests when administered. J. When a teacher transfers, a three (3) day notice shall be given when possible. Two

  • Weighing and Scaling Costs Purchaser agrees to pay for all weighing costs for logs delivered regardless if logs are purchased on a weight or scale basis. In addition, Purchaser agrees to pay for all scaling costs for logs delivered on a scale basis.
