Secondary Teaching Assignments. The number of daily periods of classroom instruction in the secondary school should not exceed five (5). If more than six (6) teaching periods a day are proposed, it must be agreed upon by the Association and the Superintendent. The Association President will receive a summary of the tentative program of academic subjects for the secondary teachers by June 15th. This assumes one (1) duty-free-period per day and other duty assignments as necessary. All 7-12 teachers will have a minimum of 200 minutes of planning time per week, with a minimum of forty (40) minutes per day.

Secondary Teaching Assignments. An employee who is required to perform assigned duties at a secondary teaching location and is unable to use College-owned or leased vehicles will be reimbursed at the College's prevailing mileage rate for travel from the site of primary work assignment. This provision will apply only in instances in which the employee has teaching assignments at two different locations and is required as a condition of their job to travel between the two sites. Reimbursement will include round-trip costs if the employee's assignment requires the return to the usual workplace on the same day, or it may include one-way mileage that is required to fulfill duties at a secondary location.
Secondary Teaching Assignments. The District shall make reasonable attempts to keep secondary teaching assignments, except as referenced below, to no more than three (3) different curriculum course preparations per day. If it is necessary to assign four (4) different preparations, then the District, upon request, shall provide reasons to the teacher involved. The District shall keep secondary assignments to no more than four (4) different curriculum course preparations per day. An exception to this Section is made in the following Departments: Music, Industrial Arts, Vocational Agriculture, Business Education, Home and Family Life, and Art. These department areas listed above may have up to five (5) preparations per day, with one of these preparations being a combination of no more than two different levels and a maximum class size of no more than 22 students or less depending upon classroom work stations. No middle school core* teachers will teach more than one (1) grade six or two (2) grade 7 and 8 subjects outside their "core" assignment. The core team will be given the responsibility to teach all core subjects assigned to their grade level, and the flexibility to assign these responsibilities within their team. Existing language will apply in all other circumstances, except sixth grade teachers will be considered secondary for this section of the contract.

  • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

  • Teaching Assignment For teaching faculty, the teaching assignment will be one or a combination of programs, courses, or student originated studies offerings (all of which are collectively referred to as “academic offerings” below). For full-time faculty the normal teaching assignment will be a program. For part-time faculty the normal assignment is either a program and/or course(s), depending on the terms of their contract. In addition, faculty may support individual learning contracts.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Shift Assignment Should the University elect to establish a shift on any other schedule than the regular day shift (Monday through Friday) or to assign employees to work on any such shift, the employee(s) with the most seniority in the classification affected or to be assigned on such shift shall have preference in moving to such shift. If an insufficient number of employees in the classification elect to move to such shift, then the employee(s) with the least seniority in the classification shall be assigned to such shift. If positions or shifts are reduced or eliminated or movement of personnel to other shifts is required, then the seniority of the affected employee will prevail in the selection of shift, provided the affected employee can do the required work. Such shift preference is only applicable within the employee's classification.

  • Subcontracting; Assignment The Contractor may not subcontract any portion of the services provided under this Contract without obtaining the prior written approval of the Procurement Officer, nor may the Contractor assign this Contract or any of its rights or obligations hereunder, without the prior written approval of the Procurement Officer provided, however, that a contractor may assign monies receivable under a contract after due notice to the State. Any subcontracts shall include such language as may be required in various clauses contained within this Contract, exhibits, and attachments. The Contract shall not be assigned until all approvals, documents, and affidavits are completed and properly registered. The State shall not be responsible for fulfillment of the Contractor’s obligations to its subcontractors.

  • Work Assignments Section 1. The Company shall determine whether to staff a position or fill a vacancy and the method or combination of methods it shall use for such purposes. In making this determination, the Company shall first give consideration to qualified laid off employees with applications on file in accordance with Article 14 Section 7 of this Agreement and then internal candidates prior to off-street applicants. All vacancies within the Bargaining Unit shall be posted (manually or electronically) in locations where Bargaining Unit employees regularly work. The posting shall include the title, wage range, and sufficient information regarding requirements and duties to adequately describe the vacancy. The vacancy shall remain posted for seven (7) calendar days which shall be spread between two (2) workweeks.

  • Summer Assignments Employees who worked less than a 12-month schedule at the 10 time of their work-related accident will not be guaranteed summer employment while 11 participating in the Alternate Duty Program.
