17.1.9.2 It is understood that by moving the longevity language from Article 17.4 to the salary schedules that the parties do not intend to have any employees or titles who did not previously receive longevity payments become eligible for longevity payments. All employees and titles who previously received longevity payments shall continue to receive such payments. The first longevity increment will be paid after the completion of 12 years of continuous service in the Albany Public Schools or 12 years as of July 1 of that year. The second longevity increment will be paid by completion of 18 years of continuous service in the Albany Public Schools. The third longevity increment will be paid after completion of twenty-five (25) years of continuous service. Periods of absence due to service in the armed forces or illness for which a leave is granted by the board of education will be considered as part of continuous service.

Sick days will be used to the extent that they are not compensated by Workers' Compensation. AFTER SCHOOL MEETINGS Registered nurses may be required:
1. to remain after the end of the regular workday without compensation for official staff meetings as deemed appropriate by the building administrator provided said meetings do not exceed ten (10) per year.
2. to attend, without additional compensation, one (1) Open House per year.

Longevities. 1. Effective July 1, 2023, unit members having completed five (5) years of service in the District shall receive a longevity payment in the amount of five hundred and fifty dollars ($550).
2. Effective July 1, 2023, unit members having completed ten (10) years of service in the District shall receive a longevity payment in the amount of five hundred and fifty dollars ($550).
3. Effective July 1, 2023, unit members having completed fifteen (15) years of service in the District shall receive a longevity payment in the amount of seven hundred dollars ($700).
4. Effective July 1, 2023, unit members having completed twenty (20) years of service in the District shall receive a longevity payment in the amount of nine hundred and fifty dollars ($950).
5. Effective July 1, 2023, unit member having completed twenty-five (25) years of service in the District they shall receive a longevity payment in the amount of nine hundred and fifty dollars ($950).
6. New longevity increases awarded in 2023-24 will be cumulative. For example: A unit member who has 28 years of district service will receive a two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) longevity payment added to their base salary.
7. All years of service in the Binghamton City School District shall be applied when calculating a unit member’s eligibility for all longevity payments for the purposes of Article XXVIII, Section E.
