Section 9.3.2. All or any portion of a leave taken by an employee because of a pregnancy related 25 medical disability may, at the employee's option, be charged to her available sick leave for the period the 26 employee's health care provider certifies in writing that the employee is disabled due to pregnancy or 27 childbearing.
Section 9.3.2. 33 Seniority rights shall not be lost for the following reasons: 34
35 A. Time lost by reason of industrial accident;
36 B. Time lost by reason of industrial illness;
37 C. Time lost by reason of jury duty;
38 D. Time on leave of absence granted for the purpose of serving in the Armed Forces of the 00 Xxxxxx Xxxxxx;
40 E. Time spent on other authorized leave as provided in this Agreement; or
41 F. Time spent in layoff status as provided in this Agreement. 42
Section 9.3.2. 43 An employee, including a birth mother who is no longer disabled from childbirth and recovery, will 44 be granted parental leave without pay to a maximum of twelve (12) weeks, which may be extended 45 by the District for up to a maximum of one (1) year, to begin at any time between the birth of the 46 employee’s child and one year thereafter. The employee shall request parental leave in writing to 47 Human Resources at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the date on which the leave is requested 48 to begin. Unpaid Family Medical Leave may be used during parental leave, by eligible employees, 49 to the extent it is available.
Section 9.3.2. 13 Up to three days for the death of the employee’s immediate family - sister, brother, 14 grandparents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, a permanent member 15 of the employee’s household, or a person of whom the employee is the sole financial support.
Section 9.3.2. 18 One year positions (not to include leave replacement positions) are regular positions. At the 19 end of the one year period, if the position does not continue the employee will be placed in 20 layoff status with the right of return in accordance with this Agreement.
Section 9.3.2. 19 The employee on leave of absence shall retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights and 20 seniority rights. Vacation credits, sick leave and seniority rights shall not, however, 21 accumulate while the employee is on leave of absence. However, seniority shall continue to 22 accumulate on leaves that do not exceed three (3) months and on medical leaves not to exceed 23 one (1) year.
Section 9.3.2 contained herein shall be construed to prevent the District from discharging an employee 9 for acts of misconduct occurring after the expiration of the school year.
Section 9.3.2 unused funds each year shall be used by the District for District-directed staff development 9 for members of the clerical unit. 12 District required in-service training shall entitle the employee to receive the employee’s hourly 13 rate of pay for each hour of such in-service attended beyond the employee’s normal workday.
Section 9.3.2. 26 Any unused funds each year shall be used by the District for District-directed staff development 27 for members of the clerical unit.
Section 9.3.2. 47 Nothing contained herein shall be construed to prevent the District from discharging an employee 48 for acts of misconduct occurring after the expiration of the school year.
