Section 9.6.3. 48 The employee will retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority rights while 49 on leave of absence. However, vacation credits, sick leave, and seniority shall not accrue while 1 the employee is on leave of absence; provided, however, that if such leave is approved for 2 extended illness or injury, seniority shall accrue.
Section 9.6.3. 15 In the event an employee is summoned to serve as a juror, such employee shall receive a 16 normal day’s shift pay for each day of actual presence in court, provided, however, that any 17 compensation shall be paid to the District. Such repayment shall not exceed the employee’s 18 normal daily pay. In the event an employee is released early from jury duty, such employee will 20 employee will call supervisor to determine if they need to return to work.
Section 9.6.3. 36 If the displaced employee identified in the first sentence of Section 9.8.2. is not qualified to fill 37 the position of the most junior person in a given compensation level, he/she shall be bumped 38 into layoff status pursuant to this section. The individual who is bumped into layoff status 40 pursuant to this section shall be placed on a reemployment list maintained by the District 41 provided that he/she fulfills all the requirements of Article IX.
Section 9.6.3. Discretionary leave can only be used in half or whole-day increments and is not allowed 20 for other partial-day usage, except in case of emergency as approved by the employee's immediate 22 one (1) day of discretionary leave may be carried forward for use in the following year. If carried 23 forward, such day must be used or it will be lost. The carry forward day is not eligible for cash out.
Section 9.6.3. 18 Discretionary leave can only be used in half or whole-day increments and is not allowed for other 20 supervisor. Effective September 1, 2018, to provide employees flexibility regarding the use of
Section 9.6.3. Normally, discretionary leave is used in whole-day increments; provided, however, partial-day 14 usage will only occur with prior approval of the immediate supervisor so long as it doesn't 15 interfere with food service operations.
Section 9.6.3. 46 The employee will retain accrued illness, injury and emergency leave, accrued vacation days, and 47 accrued seniority while on leave of absence. However, the employee will not incur additional 48 vacation days, additional illness, injury and emergency leave or additional seniority for the period 49 of time that the employee is on a leave of absence, except that an employee on a leave of absence 1 for an approved, extended illness will continue to accrue seniority. The leave of absence shall be 2 without pay and without continuation of medical benefits required by this contract. However, the 3 employee may continue his or her medical benefits by agreeing to pay one hundred percent (100%) 4 of the premiums therefore during the period of time that the employee is on leave of absence. 8 A R T I C L E X 10 EVALUATION, PROBATION, SENIORITY AND LAYOFF PROCEDURES
Section 9.6.3. Increases of one (1) hour or more to a job assignment during any school year shall be 3 considered a new position and shall be posted in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. 5 Additional work time of less than one (1) hour shall be offered within building by seniority 6 where current schedules are not disrupted by email notification or by using the form, “Parapro 7 Position Bid for Additional Building Hours”. Increases to currently staffed child specific 8 positions, intervention specialist positions, and self-contained classroom positions shall first be 9 offered to the staff holding those specific positions.
Section 9.6.3. 22 Displaced employees shall be placed according to the process outlined in Section 9.6.1. In the 23 event a displaced employee cannot be placed because no vacant position exists for which the 24 employee is qualified, the employee may be placed in the layoff pool for a possible later 25 assignment according to the layoff and recall procedure in this Article. If no displaced 26 employee is qualified for a vacant position, then the vacant position may be filled according to 27 standard practices.
Section 9.6.3. An employee may return to work from a maternity leave at any time after the birth of the child, 47 provided she has a release from her physician; the exact date to be determined between the 48 employee and the District.
