Self Employment. Instructors may submit verification of their full-time self-employed status for salary placement purposes. Copies of IRS Schedule C must be attached for each year. If Schedule C is not available, other documentation will be evaluated on its merit. Full-time employment requires that the individual show the work performed is reasonably equivalent to other full-time employment. For example, profit from a business that would provide income at least equivalent to full-time employment or receipts that would show evidence of at least 1800 annualized hours of work will be accepted.

Self Employment. The Consultant shall not be and shall not be deemed to be an employee of the Company for any purpose whatsoever. It is agreed that the Consultant is engaged to provide the Services and that this agreement is not a contract of service and at all times during the term of this agreement the Consultant will be self-employed for all purposes. The Consultant will be responsible for providing his own place of work but may be required to work on the Company’s premises or those of the Company’s client. The Consultant will be responsible for providing his own equipment although he may be permitted to use that of the Company or the Company’s client, where appropriate. The Consultant is responsible for his own health and safety and to that end must have a health and safety policy, public liability insurance and where appropriate, employers’ liability insurance. When working on the Company’s premises or those of the Company’s clients, the Consultant must take all reasonable steps to observe health and safety, security and any other relevant policies in place. The Consultant must indemnify the Company for any loss caused through his negligence and must also carry Professional Liability Insurance of at least £1,000,000. For the avoidance of doubt nothing in this agreement shall create mutuality of obligation between the Company and the Consultant; the Consultant has no right to be provided with work under this agreement; nothing in this contract creates or is intended to create a contract of employment between the Company and the Consultant. This agreement does not give the Company the right to control or direct the Consultant during his performance of any assignment.
