Standby Premium Sample Clauses
Standby Premium. Off-duty standby assignments shall be determined in advance by supervision. Volunteers will be used for standby assignment when practicable. Standby premiums for employees placed on standby off the hospital premises are in Section G of this agreement.
Standby Premium. All Employees assigned to standby shall receive a standby premium as follows:
i. Three dollars and fifteen cents ($3.15) per hour for each hour on standby on a regular working day with a minimum payment for eight (8) hours;
ii. Four dollars and twenty-five cents ($4.25) per hour for each hour on standby on days off and Statutory Holidays with a minimum payment for eight (8) hours. This payment shall be in addition to any call back compensation.
Standby Premium. Off-duty standby assignments shall be determined in advance by supervision. Employees required to restrict their off-duty activities in order to be immediately available for duty when called, will be compensated for time spent in standby status. An employee called to work will be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) and shall be paid for a minimum of two and one half (2 ½) hours. Call back from standby does not apply until after forty-five (45) minutes after the end of the scheduled shift. The minimum callback hours shall not apply more than once in a sixty (60) minute period.
Standby Premium. The Hospital may require an Employee to remain on standby for call back duty outside his scheduled working hours. Upon being called back to work, call back hours worked commence from the time the Employee commences work until the time the Employee completes the call back assignment.
Standby Premium. Employees, who as part of the duties of their positions are required by the Chief of the Department or designee to be on standby when normally off duty and to be instantly available to return to work to perform their duties, shall be paid a premium at the rate equivalent to two (2) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment that begins on a regularly assigned work day, and three (3) hours of their regular base rate of pay for each assignment that begins on a regularly scheduled day off. The duration of the assignments shall be determined by the Chief of the Department or designee based upon the operational needs of the Department, but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) hours.
Standby Premium. When the Employer places an employee on standby, she/he shall be paid a standby rate of three dollars and forty cents ($3.40) per for the time she/he spends on standby and four dollars and ninety cents ($4.90) per hour for time spent on a paid holiday. In the event that the employee is called into work while on standby, she/he shall be paid a call-back rate of one and one-half (1½) times her/his straight time rate with a guaranteed minimum of four (4) hours with pay at time and one-half (1½) from the time the employee begins work at the Hospital during the period of standby. When called into work under this provision, the standby rate shall not be payable for any hours when the call-back rate is paid. The employee shall not be entitled to a payment for more than one call-back within the same four (4) hour period from the time the employee begins work at the Hospital.
Standby Premium. A “standby” premium at the basic rates set out in Schedule “A” to this Agreement shall be paid to any employee who is required to standby and be available on the following basis:
(a) Standby premium of 12 hours for standby duties from 4:00 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Monday.
(b) Standby premium of ten hours for standby duties from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Monday or 3:30 p.m. Friday to 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
(c) Standby premium of four hours for each additional 24 hours of standby duties. Should an employee on “standby” not be available in an emergency when required, no premium pay per (c) above shall be paid to that employee for that 24-hour period. Any call-out shall be paid according to the overtime provision of the Agreement. A “pager” or some such similar device shall be made available to employees on standby duty. The employee must be within the TTC’s pager range of Hillcrest Yard, and must have in possession the pager at all times, to be considered available for standby. This requirement may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent on an individual basis.

ii. Four dollars and twelve cents ($4.12) per hour for each hour on standby on days off and Statutory Holidays with a minimum payment for eight (8) hours. This payment shall be in addition to any call back compensation.
i) Three dollars and fifteen cents ($3.15) per hour for each hour on standby on a regular working day with a minimum payment for eight (8) hours;
ii) Four dollars and twenty five cents ($4.25) per hour for each hour on standby on days off and Statutory Holidays with a minimum payment for eight (8) hours.
Standby Premium a) An employee(s) required to be on standby following their scheduled shift is entitled to a two (2) hour standby premium payable at the straight time rate. This will cover the period from end of shift to start of next scheduled shift (following day).
b) An employee(s) required to be on standby through a weekend is entitled to a four (4) hour standby premium, payable at the straight time rate, for every full day that they are on standby.
c) An employee being called in to work from standby is entitled to a minimum of four (4) hour premium, payable at the applicable rate.
