Status of Salary Schedules. The salary schedules will not be construed as part of a teacher's continuing contract. In the event a successor Agreement is not entered into prior to the expiration date of this Agreement, a teacher will be compensated according to the last individual contract executed between the teacher and the School District until such time that a successor Agreement is executed. A teacher's advancement is subject to the right of the School Board to withhold performance increments, lane changes, or other salary increases for good and sufficient grounds. A teacher's advancement will not be withheld unless the teacher failed to correct the deficiency after being given written notice of the specific items of complaint and reasonable time within which to remedy them.

Status of Salary Schedules. Subd.1. A teacher will be issued an individual contract on (1) initial employment with the District, (2) a fundamental change of employment, or (3) a change in the length of the work year. However, if it is the desire of the School District to provide individual contracts each year, such contracts will be issued. Subd.2. None of the features of the present salary schedule such as number of steps, size of increments or number of lanes shall automatically become a part of future negotiated schedules. Subd.3. At the beginning of the school year, each teacher shall be placed on the appropriate increment step and salary lane, and no teacher shall have an increment withheld during the life of the present Master Agreement except as provided for herein. Subd.4. A teacher must be employed a minimum of one hundred (100) actual contract days in a school year to qualify for a salary step advancement. For the purposes of this paragraph, authorized sick leave shall count as actual contract days.

The teacher shall be notified of any withholding for the next school year as well as the cause for such withholding by June 1 of the current school year.

Status of Salary Schedules. If negotiations for a successor contract are not completed at the beginning of the school year, no adjustment shall be made in step position on the salary schedules; horizontal lane changes will be granted pursuant to this Agreement.
