STUDENT PROPERTY. The College does not accept responsibility for student property and does not provide insurance of student’s property. The purchase of renter’s insurance is highly recommended. During winter break, spring break and any other times the residence halls may be closed, personal property is to be secured and valuables removed.

STUDENT PROPERTY. Student is financially responsible for personal property, including but not limited to food, clothing, jewelry, furnishings, and other Student personal property. Student is expected to carry their own personal property insurance. University assumes no responsibility for any theft, destruction, or loss of money, valuables,or other personal property belonging to the Student.
STUDENT PROPERTY. 17. Any personal belongings left by a resident student after the termination of this Contract may be disposed of by the College at its sole discretion. Resident students may also be assessed charges for failure to clear their rooms of personal belongings or common belongings among roommates. 18. The College is not liable for damages or loss of resident student property of any kind which may be lost, stolen, destroyed, or damaged in any way. It is the resident student’s responsibility to insure and care for the physical security of all personal property.

Rooms should be double locked when not occupied and proper care should be exercised at all time. The College is not responsible for loss or damage from any cause to the personal property of residents. Residents should determine if personal possessions are covered by their parent’s homeowners’ insurance policies and are encouraged to purchase additional coverage as needed. Personal property left in student rooms at the end of the academic year is considered to be abandoned and may be discarded by the College with the appropriate charges being levied. The College does not provide storage for personal belongings during the summer or academic year.

A hardship case request can be made for activation of local land-line phone services in your unit for a nonrefundable fee of $500 per academic year. To make such a request, contact the Occupancy Management office at 303-492- 6673 before July 31, 2018, to complete the necessary forms. Land-line phone requests submitted before July 31 will be activated before residents arrive, otherwise students making a room land-line request need to allow three weeks for activation. The nonrefundable fee of $500 per academic year, for establishing and maintaining phone service, includes installation, activation, basic local service for a single line analog phone, and continuation of service if moved to another room. It does not include long distance minutes or telephone handset. The student must provide the basic telephone handset. Students are required to comply with guidelines for the acceptable and fair use of university and/or Housing & Dining Services computing and network resources, and telephone and cable television networks. Any person who uses these resources in violation of law or policy may be subject to loss of privileges, disciplinary action, personal liability, and/or criminal prosecution. Information technology policies contained in the University of Colorado Boulder websites (xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx/avcit/policy and xxxxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx) are made part of this contract. Student rooms and furnishings are to be used in the manner for which they were designed. No university property, including room and lounge furnishings, may be moved within the building or taken from the building without written authorization of the hall director. Residents shall waive any right of subrogation which the resident or any of its insurers may have against the University and its representatives, agents, or employees due to loss or damage from any cause whatsoever to resident’s personal property. Personal property left in student rooms at the end of the academic year will be considered abandoned and may be discarded by the University with the appropriate charges being levied to the resident.
