Support Teacher Day. The hours of the normal school day for elementary support teachers will be for seven and one-half hours between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The normal school day for secondary support teachers will be for eight hours between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. unless there is an early or late course scheduled at the high school. The normal school day for Blended Learning support teachers will be for four hours (or an average of 20 hours per week) between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All hours will be continuous unless there is a late course. However, if there is a support period or activity that would not permit continuous hours, assignment to such support period or activity will be on a voluntary basis and the Administration will work with the SHTA President to identify the support teacher or support teachers to voluntarily take such assignment. Once a support teacher’s normal school day hours are set for the semester, they will not be changed without mutual consent. Flexible hours for an alternate work day for individual members may be agreed upon by mutual consent between the member, SHTA President, and Administration. Every effort will be made to have this schedule established prior to start of the semester or trimester. The lunch period will be fifty (50) minutes long for all full-time support teachers. Secondary lunch periods may be adjusted by no more than eight (8) minutes for the following reasons: assemblies, and/or when it is to the convenience of support teachers attending building and/or district meetings or workshops. Any support teachers’ meetings may extend the normal school day by mutual consent. On days when there is a regularly scheduled SHTA meeting of either the Executive Board or Representative Council, those bargaining unit members involved in such meeting will be excused at 4:00 p.m. Conference days are not considered normal school days and the hours for such days may be scheduled differently than set forth in Paragraph 1 of Section 9.01. As a matter of good administration, support teachers are expected to personally consult the principal, or his/her designee in case of his/her absence, if they need to leave their building before the end of the normal school day or before the end of any scheduled meeting. For those support teachers who must travel between buildings, the Administration will establish a reasonable time schedule.   • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.

  • Teacher Work Day The term of contract for employees shall be one hundred ninety (190) days (maximum one hundred eighty (180) student days). Any extension of the term of contract shall be paid in full day increments and be paid at the rate of one-one hundred ninetieth (1/190) of the regular salary of the employee. The maximum daily hours of work for employees shall be 465 continuous minutes and shall include a minimum of thirty (30) minutes continuous, duty-free lunch period. No more than 375 minutes shall be student contact time. The teaching staff will receive one full day at the end of each quarter to be used in preparation of grades for report cards and conferences. Assignment of students for a new school year to classrooms and schedules shall be done in a fair and equitable manner to promote a variety of strengths, needs and equal numbers of each classroom. The Administration shall make reasonable effort to ensure that assignments are made collaboratively, considering such issues as special needs, behavior, attendance and academic levels. Collaborative input may include regular and special education staff, para-educators, teaching specialist and administrators. In the event of a change in the student day, the Association will be informed of such change and given an opportunity to respond, provided, however, that exceptions to this section may occur in the event of emergencies or acts of God. The District shall make every reasonable effort to increase the amount of collaboration time available to professional employees within the normal work day. Xxx Xxxxxxxx shall make every reasonable effort to ensure equitable workload distribution and student contact time amongst staff members.

  • New Teacher Orientation The Association shall have the opportunity to participate in the opening in-service day including speakers for the sole purpose of greeting new faculty members and informing them of the opportunities available to them through joining their professional association.

  • BEGINNING TEACHERS a.) Secondary level Mentors will receive release time of an average of 40% of their teaching load, depending on their caseload.

  • Using Student feedback in Educator Evaluation ESE will provide model contract language, direction and guidance on using student feedback in Educator Evaluation by June 30, 2013. Upon receiving this model contract language, direction and guidance, the parties agree to bargain with respect to this matter.

  • Shift Rotation Routine shift rotation is not an approach to staffing endorsed by the Employer. Except for emergency situations where it may be necessary to provide safe patient care, shift rotation will not be utilized without mutual consent. If such an occasion should ever occur, volunteers will be sought first. If no one volunteers, the Employer will rotate shifts on an inverse seniority basis until the staff vacancies are filled.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.

  • Training Period The training provided for in this article shall be given during the hours of work whenever possible. Any such training outside of working hours shall be considered voluntary unless at the request of the Employer, in which case time devoted to training shall be considered as time worked.
