TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS Sample Clauses

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. Pursuant to rules established by the Director of Human Resources, time off for the purpose of medical examinations including examinations by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, and/or treatments resulting from injury on the job, shall be charged to injury leave. Injury leave shall be allowed for actual time spent (including travel time) for scheduled physician appointments and/or treatment resulting from an on-the-job injury.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. All persons in the competitive service shall be entitled to necessary time off with pay for the purpose of taking qualifying or promotional examinations pertaining to positions in the competitive service of the City.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. ‌ Employees shall be granted reasonable time off with pay for the purpose of taking oral promotional examinations when such examinations are given by the City and scheduled during the employee's normal working period; provided, however, that each employee entitled to such time off with pay shall give reasonable advance notice to their supervisor. Such time off with pay shall include travel time.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. ‌ If a request is made by an employee, such employee shall be released from duty without loss of compensation while competing in City examinations and interviews. The employee must give the immediate supervisor at least three (3) working days' advance notice. Employees shall not be compensated for examination and interview time which occurs during non-duty hours.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. An employee will be provided time off with pay to write examinations on a course approved pursuant to Article 17.03 and 17.04 above, if the examination for such course must be written during normal working hours.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. During any calendar year, leave of absence with pay shall be granted to regular employees for the actual time required (to a maximum of eight (8) hours) to write examinations to improve their qualifications specific to their service with the Employer, which received the prior approval of the Employer.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. All members of the bargaining unit shall be provided release time for the purpose of taking qualifying examinations or promotional examinations which pertain to their position in the competitive service of the City and will not result in a loss of pay if the examination is scheduled during a member’s regularly scheduled work hours.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. The School Board agrees to allow employees up to four (4) hours off with pay for the purpose of taking promotional examinations within their job series, provided employees give at least three (3)-days notice of such intent and the absence of an employee does not work an unusual hardship on the School Board.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. ‌ Employees shall be granted reasonable time off with pay for the purpose of taking examinations when such examinations are given by the City and scheduled during the employee’s work shift; provided, however, that each employee entitled to such time off with pay shall give reasonable advance notice to their supervisor. Such time off with pay shall include travel time. Employees shall be granted time off with pay for the purpose of U.S. Coast Guard license renewal and/or radar observer certification when such activity can be conducted during an employee’s regularly scheduled work shift without adversely affecting pilot service operations. Employees will obtain advance approval for such time off from their respective supervisor. If the radar observer certification renewal process cannot be completed during an employee’s regularly scheduled work shift, the employee will be granted an additional day off with pay to complete the process. The day will be paid, accumulated as book overtime, or taken as an additional day off at the employee’s discretion. However, time off is subject to the approval of the supervisor. Additionally, employees shall not be permitted to accrue more than 160 hours of book overtime. A day is equivalent to 12 hours’ straight time.

TIME OFF FOR EXAMINATIONS. 43.1 The Employer shall grant time off with pay to an employee to sit an examination required for a training programme for his/her professional development upon submission of an official copy of the exam schedule from the educational institution.
