Union Business Release Time Bank. The Union is authorized a total of 100 hours of paid Union Business Release Time each Fiscal Year, starting with the Board of Supervisorsapproval of the 2016-2018 Memorandum of Understanding between the parties. Upon request from the Union Business Agent or designee, the County agrees to authorize stewards and other member(s) of the Union release time to attend to Union business related to County of Sonoma. In all cases use of Union Business Release Time will not unreasonably interfere with the Department’s operations and the Union member(s) shall secure permission from their supervisor before leaving their work assignment. The Union’s request for Union Business Release Time shall not be made capriciously or arbitrarily, and time demands on any one employee shall be within reasonable limits and with the approval of the designated supervisory representative.

Union Business Release Time Bank. The Union is authorized a total of 100 hours of paid Union Business Release Time each Fiscal Year, starting with the Board of Supervisorsapproval of the 2019-2023 Memorandum of Understanding between the parties. Additionally, on July 1, 2021 and also on July 1, 2022, the Union will be authorized an additional 25 hours of paid Union Business Release Time, resulting in a total of 125 hours of paid Union Business Release Time for Fiscal Year 2021/22 (July 2021 to June 2022) and Fiscal Year 2022/23 (July 2022 to June 2023). Upon request from the Union Business Agent or designee, the County agrees to authorize stewards and other member(s) of the Union release time to attend to Union business related to County of Sonoma. In all cases use of Union Business Release Time will not unreasonably interfere with the Department’s operations and the Union member(s) shall secure permission from their supervisor before leaving their work assignment. The Union’s request for Union Business Release Time shall not be made capriciously or arbitrarily, and time demands on any one employee shall be within reasonable limits and with the approval of the designated supervisory representative. Effective July 1, 2019, after one year of service, a represented employee in the Bargaining Unit may contribute up to twenty-two (22) hours per year of accrued compensatory time off or vacation hours. A contributor must have 80 hours vacation balance after contribution. There is no compensatory time off minimum balance. Represented employees may donate up to a total of one hundred twenty-five (125) hours of accrued vacation and/or compensatory-time-off- hours to the union release time bank each fiscal year. Donations must be made in minimum one (1) hour increments and shall be used before County- provided Union release time. Donations shall be irrevocable. Starting on the date when the Union notifies the County of its intent to re-open the MOU the County shall allow the Bargaining Team three (3) four-hour blocks of paid release time to prepare for negotiations.

  • Union Business Leave 1. The five members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board, or its representatives, and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of a contract, when such meetings take place at a time when such members are scheduled to be at work.

  • Union Business (a) The Hospital shall grant leave of absence without pay to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, education classes and other Union business in connection with the administration of the collective agreement provided that such leave will not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. In requesting such leave of absence for an employee or employees, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) days clear notice in writing to the Hospital, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice. The cumulative total leave of absence, the number of employees that may be absent at any one time from any one area, and the number of days of absence shall be negotiated locally and are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. During such leave of absence, the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital on the basis of what his normal regular hours of work would have been, provided that the Union reimburses the Hospital in the amount of such salary and applicable benefits within thirty (30) days of billing. Notwithstanding the above, time spent by the eight (8) Executive Board members and seven (7) Alternate Executive Board members of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions to fulfill the duties of the position shall be in addition to leave for Union Business under this clause. Part-time and casual employees will be given full credit for seniority purposes for regularly scheduled hours missed in accordance with this provision.

  • Time Off for Union Business Leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority will be granted:

  • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer. The Union shall give reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the department and the Union shall make every effort to give a minimum of seven (7) days' notice.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE - UNION BUSINESS 11.08.01 Employees who have been elected or appointed to carry out business authorized by the Union on a full-time basis shall be granted a Leave of Absence for this purpose. The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such leave, and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company's costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company. The Company shall provide such employees with free and reduced-rate transportation in accordance with Company regulations. Such employees shall continue to accrue seniority and service while on leave of absence.

  • Local Union Business Leave The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed forty (40) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Leave for Association Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Association to attend Association business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Association agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Association. The Hospital will bill the local Association within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.

  • For Union Business Representatives of the Union shall not suffer any loss of pay when required to leave their employment temporarily in order to carry on negotiations with the Employer, or with respect to a grievance.
