Union Employment. Union members appointed to a paid position in the Union shall be granted an unpaid leave of absence up to one year and upon at least thirty (30) days notice in writing of the leave request. Union Employment. An employee elected or selected to a full time job in the local Union, AFL-CIO, or the IAM Federal Credit Union, or the International Union, which takes him from his employment with the Company, shall upon written request to the Company receive leave of absence, without pay, for a period equal to his tenure of employment with the Union. Upon completion of his leave of absence during the existence of this Agreement, he shall be re-employed according to his seniority in work generally similar to that which he did last prior to leaving at the wage rates existing at the time of his return, provided such work is available for him according to his seniority, and he has the ability to perform such work. Seniority shall accumulate during such leave of absence.
Union Employment. In the event that a full-time classified employee shall become a full-time employee of the Union, the employee shall notify the Oakton College President and shall be granted a leave of absence not to exceed two years without pay for the purpose of accepting this position.
