Miscellaneous Leave. Leave with or without pay may be granted for the following purposes subject to the criteria set out below being met.
(a) Where a teacher is prevented from travelling from their home to work because of an emergency situation outside of the control of the teacher (up to seven (7) days leave with pay may be granted) provided that this provision is for emergencies only. Approval shall not be given where the teacher has advance notice or in circumstances where the teacher could be reasonably expected to have foreseen the situation arising. Where practicable the teacher is to inform the school of the reasons for the absence and is required to return to duty as soon as possible. Full details of the case shall be submitted.
Miscellaneous Leave.
17.1 Subject to the Employer’s prior approval, employees will be allowed paid leave, during scheduled work time, for:
A. Examinations or interviews for state employment; Each employee will be allowed paid leave during his/her scheduled work hours for examinations and interviews for state employment. Approval cannot be denied for up to four (4) times in a calendar year, unless it interferes with the business needs of the agency. Any additional examinations and interviews are subject to the Employer’s prior approval. The employer may approve reasonable travel time.
B. Assessment from the Employee Assistance Program (EAP);
C. Life-giving procedures;
D. Jury Duty as outlined in 17.2;
E. To appear in court or administrative hearing, as specifically provided below in Section 17.3;
F. For bereavement leave, as specifically provided below in Section 17.5.
Miscellaneous Leave. If eligible, the Employer will continue to provide Family Medical Leave, Domestic Violence Leave, Civil Duty Leave (unpaid release time), Leave Without Pay for Reason of Faith or Conscience, and Military Leave in accordance with University Policy, Article 13, and Article 14.
Miscellaneous Leave. The Employer may at its discretion and upon such terms as it deems advisable, grant leaves of absence with or without pay to an employee.
Miscellaneous Leave. Details regarding the following leave provisions are set out in Appendix A of the collective agreement.
i. Court Leave (includes Jury Duty and Witness Duty)
ii. Military Leave (to a maximum of up to two weeks) iii. Education Leave iv. Workers’ Compensation
Miscellaneous Leave. 1. A permanent Unit Member may be granted an unpaid leave of absence for up to a period of one (1) year, the granting of which would be of benefit to the District or the individual.
2. At least four (4) months prior to the leave, the Unit Member shall submit to the Superintendent a written request for the leave stating the period of the leave and the reason for the request.
Miscellaneous Leave. A. Employees may be released from duty without loss in pay:
1. To receive assessment from the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
2. WSU Exams or interviews
3. For life-giving procedures, when approved in advance.
Miscellaneous Leave. 17.1 Leave with pay will be allowed during scheduled work time:
A. For participating in life-giving procedures, subject to Section 17.3;
B. When required to report for jury duty service, subject to Section 17.4;
C. To appear in court or an administrative hearing, subject to Section 17.5;
D. For twenty-one (21) days for active duty or active duty training, subject to Section 17.6;
E. For bereavement leave, subject to Section 17.7;
F. To allow an employee to receive an assessment through the Employee Assistance Program, subject to Section 17.8;
G. For examinations or interviews with a state Employer during scheduled work hours subject to Section 17.9.
17.2 Subject to Employer approval, leave with pay may be allowed during scheduled work time for an employee to perform civil duties as a volunteer, including but not limited to firefighting, search and rescue efforts or donating blood.
Miscellaneous Leave.
18.1 Subject to the Employer’s approval, nurses may be allowed paid leave, during scheduled work time, for:
A. Examinations or interviews for state employment, B. To receive assessment from the Employee Advisory Service, or

16.1 Subject to the Employer’s approval, employees will be allowed paid leave, during scheduled work time, for:
A. Examinations or interviews for state employment;
B. To receive assessment from the Employee Assistance Program (EAP); or
C. Life-giving procedures, when approved in advance.
