– Union Official Time Off. With prior approval of their immediate supervisor, representatives of the Union shall be allowed to arrange for qualified work replacements for the purpose of administering the business of the Union. The Employer shall not be responsible for compensating any such replacement.
– Union Official Time Off. A union official who is an employee in the bargaining unit (Shop Xxxxxxx or alternate) may be granted a forty-eight (48-) hour paid time off bank for bonafide training seminars or courses as endorsed by the union.
– Union Official Time Off. With prior approval of their immediate supervisor, representatives of the Union shall be allowed to arrange for qualified work replacements for the purpose of administering the business of the Union. The Employer shall not be responsible for compensating any such replacement. The City and Union recognize a shared interest in resolving issues which arise concerning administration of this labor agreement and the collective bargaining relationship as expeditiously as possible. Subject to prior approval of the employer, Union representatives shall be allowed to meet with employer representatives on paid time to perform such duties. Both the employer and Union will use reasonable judgment in the application of this section. With prior notice to the appropriate supervisor or his/her designee, Bargaining Unit employees shall be allowed to perform normal Union business in a manner and in areas of the Department that does not interfere with the operations of the Department during breaks.
– Union Official Time Off. A Union official who is an Employee in the bargaining unit shall be granted time off without loss of pay for meetings with the City concerning matters vital to the Employees in the bargaining unit; provided however, such activities shall not interfere with the normal functioning of the City and prior permission from the Employee’s department head or designee shall be obtained. The Union shall notify the City of any changes of Union officials.
– Union Official Time Off. A Union member who is an employee in the bargaining unit will be granted time off without pay while attending Union associated conventions, seminars, meetings, and Union/Employer litigation matters, provided (1) the employee notifies the Chief in writing at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the time off. (2) The Employer will have sufficient employees available to staff the department during this time off. (3) An employee called in to replace another employee, who is off on Union business, will receive straight time pay and overtime pay as required by the FLSA. The Union will reimburse the Employer the amount over straight time pay if the cost of replacement exceeds the member’s pay at the regular hourly rate.
