Urgent Personal Business. 1. Any permanent employee may at his/her election use up to Four (4) (2) days per school year of personal necessity leave for urgent personal business, which cannot be conducted except during the employee’s normal workday. The decision on whether to approve or disapprove the dates of the requested leave rests with the unit member’s immediate supervisor. Final leave approval rests with the Governing Board.
2. An employee shall notify his/her immediate supervisor at least three (3) working days in advance of taking such leave by completing and submitting the District’s “Personal Necessity Leave/Urgent Personal Business” form, unless an emergency makes such advance notice impossible.
3. In no case shall Personal Necessity/Urgent Personal Business Leave be used for:
a. Extension of school holiday;
b. Extension of school vacation;
c. Personal vacation, hobbies, minor or occasional occupation, recreation, sports events, or accompanying immediate family on trips or excursions.
Urgent Personal Business. A teacher who has accumulated two (2) days of sick leave may use one (1) of these two (2) days for urgent personal business. Urgent personal business shall require advance notice or reason whenever possible. A teacher shall identify the item under which the day is being taken. Urgent personal business cannot be used on the first or last day of school or before or after a holiday. Urgent personal business is defined in Section 10.01 (3)(d), items 1-6.
Urgent Personal Business. Urgent personal business is business affecting one’s personal affairs which must be conducted and which cannot be scheduled outside regular hours of work. An employee may be granted a leave of absence of up to five (5) days in a calendar year by the employee’s supervisor, or designate, for urgent personal business, provided that the employee gives notice to the Employer at least 48 hours in advance. Such leave shall be charged against the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
Urgent Personal Business. The Business Administrator may grant salaried non-professional employees up two (2) days leave with pay for urgent personal business, but not before or after a holiday unless fully substantiated in the request. Beginning July 1, 1982, unused personal business leave days shall be cumulative up to three (3) days; unused days thereafter shall be converted to cumulative sick leave days.
