Use of Accrued Time. Accrued vacation and compensatory time will not be charged without specific authorization of the employee except: a. As provided otherwise in this Agreement; b. When an employee is laid off or terminated; and c. After an employee has been on leave without pay for more than fifteen (15) days.

Section 4. Vacations that have been scheduled may not be canceled by the Institution except in the event of an emergency. When unrecoverable vacation deposits in excess of fifty dollars ($50.00) are incurred by an employee, the vacation shall not be canceled by the Institution. In the event of a schedule change caused by seniority or a transfer at the request of an employee, the provisions of this Section shall not apply.
Use of Accrued Time. Vacation days may not be taken until accrued. Any vacation time accumulated in excess of twice the annual accrual will be forfeited. Under extenuating circumstances, an appeal may be made to the College’s Senior Human Resources Manager through the immediate supervisor.

Annual and vacation time will cease to accrue as of the first pay period during which the employee does not receive wages directly from the City. Pension contributions by the City will continue while an employee is on a leave under this policy, so long as the employee is using compensatory time, vacation and/or annual leave, as a result, is receiving wages directly from the City. Any applicable employee contributions shall be deducted from wages. Pension contributions by the City will cease as of the first pay period when the employee ceases to use compensatory time, vacation and/or annual leave and, as a result, is no longer receiving wages directly from the City. Any contributions by the City toward health, life and disability insurance will continue while an employee is on a leave under this policy so long as the employee is using compensatory time, vacation and/or annual leave and, as a result, is receiving wages directly from the City. Any applicable employee contributions shall be deducted from wages. Any contributions by the City toward health, life and disability insurance shall cease the first of the month following one full month in which the employee ceases to use compensatory time, vacation and/or annual leave and, as a result, is no longer receiving wages directly from the City. In the event that City contributions cease, health insurance may be continued during a leave under this policy, with premiums paid by the employee under COBRA provisions. Life and disability insurance coverage will be suspended, subject to reinstatement when the employee returns from leave.
Use of Accrued Time. A qualifying employee eligible for a military leave of absence without pay, may, with advance notice, use accrued vacation, personal leave, or compensatory time during such military leave of absence. Sick leave shall not be used for a military leave of absence.

  • HOLIDAY COMPENSATION FOR TIME WORKED 111. Employees required by their respective appointing officers to work on any of the above designated or observed holidays, excepting Fridays observed as holidays in lieu of holidays falling on Saturday, shall be paid extra compensation of one additional xxx's pay at time-and-one-half the usual rate (i.e. 12 hours pay for 8 hours worked) or a proportionate amount for less than 8 hours worked. At the employee's request and with the approval of the appointing officer, an employee may be granted compensatory time off in lieu of paid overtime pursuant to the provisions herein. 112. Executive, administrative and professional employees designated in the Annual Salary Ordinance with the "Z" symbol shall not receive extra compensation for holiday work but may be granted time off equivalent to the time worked at the rate of one-and-one- half times for work on the holiday.
