Vacancy Bidding. A. All new or vacant positions at the Water Supply and Treatment Division (Xxxxx Xxxxx Water Treatment Plant, Sunol Water Treatment Plant and the Millbrae Corporation Yard) shall be subject to employee’s bids before employees from the outside are hired to fill any such new or vacant positions. B. Eligible employees shall be those in classes 7318 and 7345 within the Water Supply and Treatment Division (Xxxxx Xxxxx Water Treatment Plant, Sunol Water Treatment Plant and the Millbrae Corporation Yard), where the new or vacant position is available and who are assigned the same classification as the new or open positions. C. Vacancies as described in 3.A. above shall be posted in the sections where such vacancies occur for a period of five (5) working days. D. Bids for eligible employees must be filed within five (5) working days from the initial date of posting. E. Operational positions shall be awarded on the basis of Departmental classification seniority. F. Exceptions may be made for training purposes of if the operation of this provision would be negatively impact service reliability, service standards or employee safety.

This procedure shall not apply to open or new positions existing at the time of the regular transfer and shift bidding periods. At such times, open or new positions shall be filled in accordance with those procedures. These procedures shall apply before and after the opening and closing of regular transfer and shift bidding procedures. 8. This section applies to initial vacancies only and will not apply to vacancies created by this bidding process.

Vacancy Bidding. (a) For the purpose of this Article, a vacancy is a known absence of three (3) months or more. (b) The Company will post all vacancies for bid. Terminal seniority shall prevail for vacancy bids. Vacancy bidding shall be in accordance with Article 10, Section 1 of the Pickup and Delivery Operational Supplement (“Job Bidding and Filling of Vacancies - General Bid”). When a vacancy is posted for bid, all bargaining unit employees in that respective terminal who are junior to the absent employee are entitled to bid. (c) If an absent employee returns to work prior to the Annual Bid, all employees who were affected by the vacancy bids shall return to their previous bids.
Vacancy Bidding. Section 1 A vacancy shall mean additional or open positions in any Category, Crew Class and Type as required by the Company. Section 2 Any vacancies in Category, Crew Class and Type shall be filled in accordance with the following procedure: A. The Company shall determine the number of vacancies available and shall post bulletins announcing such vacancies, stating the effective date. A copy of such bulletin shall be posted at the Company Crew Base and a copy placed in all Crewmembers' mail files. B. The bulletin shall stipulate a closing date and time, indicating a deadline for Crewmembers bids for such positions. This date and time shall not be less than fourteen (14) days after the date such bulletin is posted and delivered as provided in paragraph 2.A. All such bulletins shall be numbered consecutively during a calendar year. C. All bids for vacancies shall be made on forms provided by and directed to the office of the Director of Operations. Every bid submitted shall become a "standing bid on file" and shall be used for all subsequent bids until a new bid sheet is received. A new bid sheet may be submitted at any time after the final results are posted of a previously closed bid, thereby updating the "standing bid on file". A supply of these bid forms shall be available at the Company Base. D. A bulletin announcing the results of all bidding for, or assignment to, vacancies shall be posted at the Company Crew Base, within ten (10) days after the specified closing date and shall refer to the bulletin number which announced such vacancy(s). Such bulletin shall state the effective date, Crew Class and Type, and the name and seniority number of the successful bidder or Crewmember assigned. Section 3 A Crewmember is not eligible to bid on any type of aircraft other than the Type he or she is flying, unless, he or she has completed twenty-four (24) months of active Service flying from completion of his or her initial line check in his or her Crew Class on his or her Type at the time of the bidding. The Company, when posting a bulletin in any vacancy, may waive this or her provision in a non-discriminatory manner if the Company operations require it.
