VACATION TIME OFF PROCEDURE. A. The National Agreement in Paragraph (202) establishes the guidelines for employees to apply for and be granted vacation time off. Under the provisions of that paragraph, employees of, Saginaw Site, may apply for vacation time off during the month of February of each year. Written application may be made using Management’s provided form, on which the employee may indicate first, second, and third choices. The current “white” copy will be given to the employee to serve as a receipt copy for the time applied for. The “pink” copy will be returned to the employee by March 31st of each year with the disposition of the written requested time off. Should the employee not be notified by March 31st the requested first choice of day or days as applied for will be considered granted unless changed or cancelled by mutual consent of Management and the employee. It is understood by the parties that the time period applied for and granted in this situation will not exceed the vacation time off entitled an employee in Paragraph (202) of the National Agreement. Further, relative to vacation requests for time off (periods that fall outside the scope of the vacation application period), Management agrees to respond to each request with a written disposition in a timely manner. Individual concerns relative to the intent of this agreement or Management’s failure to comply with same, should be brought to the attention of the Plant Labor Relations Department. B. In recognition of the Union’s concern, Management concurs that vacation time off requests during the contractually-defined vacation application period be limited to the three (3) choices provided for on Saginaw Site form. Furthermore, a valid choice is defined as a specific date or specific consecutive dates. This process may be repeated until employees have an opportunity to exhaust all of their contractually- granted vacation time off.

VACATION TIME OFF PROCEDURE. The Company recognizes the importance of providing vacation time off, in a manner that maintains efficiency of operations while giving due consideration to the desires of employees. Accordingly, the Company will establish a procedure whereby employees not later than December of each calendar year may make application in writing for vacation time off, indicating first, second and third choices. The Company will discuss with the Union, no later than February 1, the results of the review of employee applications for vacation time off and inform the Union of the Company's decision that: (i) employees will be given vacation time off from the job through a normal vacation scheduling program consistent with the need for maintaining efficient operations or (ii) a plant vacation shutdown will be scheduled during prime vacation time, provided employees have expressed a collective desire for vacations during prime time. If subsequent to February 1, the Company decides that a plant vacation shutdown should be scheduled, such shutdown can be scheduled only by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. In the event the Company selects the option of a plant vacation shutdown, the Union will be advised no later than April 1 as to the specific shutdown period and also which employees have been selected to work during the shutdown period consistent with good employee relations and efficiency of operations. Employees selected to work during such shutdown will be given vacation time off from the job through a normal vacation scheduling program during periods other than the shutdown period. Each employee will be given a written disposition of his or her application. Approved vacation time off will not thereafter be canceled or changed without the consent of the employee.

  • Vacation Time After the Trial Period is complete, the Employee is entitled to days off per year of which is required to be mutually benefiting of the Employer and the Employee. It is required for the Employee to give notice before scheduling their vacation in accordance with Company policy.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Vacation Bidding 1. Vacations will be bid by shifts in a Bid Area, except that in any Bid Area having less than 50 employees, vacations shall be bid by Bid Area. When mutually agreed between the Company and the local Union Business Agent/Chief Stewards/Coordinator vacations may be bid by groupings other than those listed herein. Provided that the Company will not unreasonably withhold agreement to such grouping as the local Business Agent advocates. It shall not be unreasonable for the Company to withhold agreement if the proposed grouping can reasonably be expected to materially affect the operation or any portion thereof. 2. In each vacation bidding group, the Department Head or Designee, will determine the total number of vacation weeks to be taken including regular earned vacation and deferred Holidays. For determining weeks to be bid, two (2) or less days will not be considered as a week. 3. If the total number of weeks to be taken is fifty (50) weeks or less, only one (1) person will be awarded a vacation in any given week (considered as a column). 4. If the total number is greater than fifty (50) weeks, a full column will be available for bidding each fifty (50) weeks, and if necessary, a partial column will be available for any remaining weeks in the last column. This method is used to avoid scheduling more people than necessary to be on vacation in any specific week. 5. Once a year, generally in early November, employees will bid for available vacation in the succeeding year based on adjusted Company Service Date. The Company will post notice of where and when employees will bid their initial and subsequent rounds of vacation. Employees will at that specific time, have three (3) ways to notify management of their bid preferences. They may show up in person, or telephone in their preference, or submit a written pre-bid to the designated management representative prior to any particular vacation bid round. Written confirmation will be provided to employees submitting written pre-bids. Once the entire vacation biding process is completed the vacation listings will be posted no later than December 15th. 6. Employees may bid one (1) continuous vacation period, which may include all or any portion of the vacation to which he is entitled. However if the employee is eligible for less than ten (10) working days the employee may not split the available vacation. Once an employee is eligible for ten (10) working days or more, the employee may split the employee’s vacation into separate periods of complete weeks and if a partial week remains, it will be taken in conjunction with one (1) of the employee’s complete weeks. 7. Once each employee has had the opportunity to bid, additional rounds of bidding will be permitted following the same procedure used on the initial round. 8. If an employee does not bid at all, during any given round, the employee will not be given the opportunity to bid until the next round. However if an employee misses his bid time but calls or shows up to bid before that particular round is complete, he will be allowed to bid at that time from the remaining available weeks. 9.   • Vacation and Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to vacation and paid time off in accordance with the standard policies of the Company for executives as in effect from time to time.

  • Vacation; Paid Time Off During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation in accordance with the Company’s vacation policies, as in effect from time to time. The Executive shall receive other paid time-off in accordance with applicable law and the Company’s policies for executive officers as such policies may exist from time to time.

  • Vacation Period ‌ The choice of vacation periods shall be granted to employees on the basis of seniority with the Employer except where the period requested would be detrimental to the operation of the Employer.

  • Vacation Schedule 1. Vacation periods shall be fixed by the Employer to suit the requirements of his business, but as far as possible and practicable, vacations will be given during the summer months, and for employees with school-age children, during the school vacations. Vacation periods shall be unbroken unless by mutual consent between Employer and employee, or where it is impractical. Grievances relating to this Section shall be subject to the Adjustment and Arbitration Procedure in this Agreement. 2. Time off, based upon service in the Industry Vacation Plan, may be granted to an employee by mutual agreement between the Employer and the employee. The Employer shall not be required to give time off based upon service under the Industry Vacation Plan. However, if such additional industry vacation time off is granted to an employee, such time off shall be counted as time worked for the purpose of computing the employee's earned vacation benefits on his next anniversary date of employment.

  • VACATION PLAN 2 All employees in the bargaining unit shall earn paid vacation time 3 under this Article. Vacation benefits are earned on a fiscal year 4 basis--July 1 to June 30. 5 8.1 Unit members are entitled to vacation with pay at the rates 6 to be found in the following schedule: 7 8.1.1 . 83 of a day for each month worked during the first 8 three (3) years.

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. (c) Employees may request pursuant to Article 13.08 to have the weekend off prior to or following their vacation. The Employer will endeavour to schedule such request subject to the following: i) Where the weekend off is granted and the employee was otherwise scheduled to work on those days, such extra days will be deemed to be vacation days; ii) The employee must have such vacation entitlement available; and, iii) The weekend off being requested must be contiguous with (i.e. consecutive with) the employee’s original vacation. (d) Prior to leaving on vacation, an employee shall be notified of the date on which to report back for work following vacation if the posted work schedule does not cover the employees’ vacation period, if the information is known to the employer. (e) Full-time employees will be granted time off in single days or multiples thereof upon request, provided the employer agrees to that request. The maximum allotment of these days will be five (5) days.
