Vision and Values. The principles underpinning the working of NoSPG were articulated at a Stakeholder event in March 2004 as sharing and thinking North. Sharing includes accountability for ‘North’ services, sharing the responsibility for provision of service and associated risks. Sharing expertise to the benefit of all and working together to maximise the opportunities for provision of the widest possible range of services for the people of the north of Scotland. Thinking North includes the cultural shift necessary to consider whether a regional approach might be an appropriate response to service challenges and harnessing the ‘power of the 6’ to the benefit of the population. Working in this way will require openness, honesty and trust. NoSPG identified benefits in working collaboratively to develop service strategies and health intelligence to support decision making.
