Work on Paid Holiday. (a) When a regular full-time or temporary full-time nurse works on a holiday, in addition to being compensated in accordance with 20.01 a) above, she shall be paid a premium of one-half (.5) times her regular hourly rate outside the 75 hours averaging period for hours worked on the paid holiday up to 7.5 hours. Thereafter, the provisions of Article 20.01 b) shall be applicable. In addition, the nurse shall receive time off for hours worked at straight time which shall be scheduled at a mutually convenient date between the nurse and her immediate supervisor. However, if a mutually convenient date cannot be arranged to schedule the time off within thirty (30) days from when the holiday was worked, the nurse shall be paid for hours worked at straight time (in lieu of the time off). Requests made shall not be unreasonably denied. (b) Any regular part-time, temporary part-time or casual nurse, who is required to work on a named holiday shall be paid one and one-half (1.5) times her straight time hourly rate for all hours worked on such named holiday, and the nurse shall not receive time off in lieu of the holiday worked.

Work on Paid Holiday. (a) Regular full-time employees who are required to work on any aforementioned paid holiday shall receive, in addition to a full days holiday pay (7.5), a .5X premium for all hours worked up to 7.5 hours. In addition such employee will receive time off at straight time pay equivalent to the hours worked, up to a maximum of seven and one half hours (7.5). Time off in-lieu of holiday worked shall be scheduled at a mutually agreed time between the supervisor/Manager and the employee. Such time in- lieu in excess of seven and one half (7 ½) hours shall be paid to the employee at the end of the fiscal year where such time in-lieu cannot be scheduled. (b) Any regular part-time who is required to work on a named holiday shall be paid one and one-half (1.5) times her straight time hourly rate for all hours worked on such named holiday up to seven and one half (7.5) hours. A regular part-time nurse shall not receive time off in lieu of the holiday worked.

Work on Paid Holiday. An employee required to work on one of the paid holidays listed in Article 13.01 shall be paid at one and one-half (1 ½) times his regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked on such paid holiday.   • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Work on a Holiday Employees required to work on days recognized as holidays which fall within their regular work schedules shall be entitled, in addition to their regular monthly salary, to compensatory time off, or to be paid in cash as provided in Articles 32.1-32.5 (Overtime). Compensatory time off or cash paid for all time worked shall be at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½). The rate at which an employee shall be paid for working on a holiday shall not exceed the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) his/her straight time rate of pay.

  • PAID HOLIDAYS 18.01 The following will be recognized as paid holidays for the employees: New Year's Day Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day Two (2) Floating Days 18.02 To qualify for holiday pay an employee must work his/her scheduled shift before and after the holiday, or his/her absence must be authorized (e.g. vacation, sick, bereavement, jury duty). Employees shall take their floating holidays by December 31st each year except as otherwise mutually agreed between the employee and the Employer. For employees with less than one (1) year's service, floating holidays will be taken as follows unless otherwise mutually agreed between the employee and the Employer: One (1) floating day between January 1 and June 30 of each year, and one (1) floating day between July 1 and December 31 of each year. To receive the floating holiday, an employee must have completed his/her probationary period. 18.03 An employee who qualifies under 18.02 and who works on any of the holidays listed in 18.01 above shall be paid double time for such work and shall be granted a day off with pay at a time mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee, within sixty (60) days following the holiday. If it is not feasible to give the compensating time off, or if the employee does not wish to take a day off, the Employer shall pay the employee a day's pay in respect of the holiday. If one (1) of the holidays occurs during an employee's vacation period, or regular day off, the employee will receive an additional day off, at a mutually agreed time, or an extra day's pay in lieu of the holiday. 18.04 If mutually agreed between Union and Employer at any or all locations covered by this Agreement, holidays may be changed to ensure that newspaper production deadlines are not interfered with. 18.05 In addition to their regular wages, part-time and temporary employees shall be paid 4.2% of their regular wages in lieu of the regular day's pay for the holidays outlined in Article 18. 01. This amount shall be added to the employee's regular weekly pay cheque. 18.06 Part-time and temporary employees who are required to work on a paid holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times their regular rate for all hours worked.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.
