Working Day Before and Day After. In order to be entitled to payment for a Statutory Holiday, an employee must work all of their last regularly scheduled day of work before the Statutory Holiday and all of their regular scheduled day of work after the Statutory Holiday, unless the employee is ill, on authorized vacation or an authorized leave of absence.

Working Day Before and Day After. In order to be eligible to receive holiday pay for any holiday, the full-time employee must work his/her last full scheduled work day before the holiday as well as his/her next full scheduled work day after the holiday, unless the full-time employee’s absence is authorized. Any full-time employee who calls in sick on a scheduled holiday will receive sick pay, not holiday pay, provided the full-time employee is otherwise qualified to be paid for the holiday. This section can only be used if the employee exceeds his/her statutory leave time as described in the Rhode Island Sick and Safe Leave Law.
Working Day Before and Day After. In order to be entitled to payment for a Statutory Holiday, an employee must have worked the full working day immediately preceding the holiday and the full working day immediately following the holiday, unless an employee is ill, on authorized vacation or leave of absence. When any of the above-named Statutory Holidays falls on an employee's scheduled day off, the employee shall receive another day off with pay at a time agreed upon between the employee and the employer. Should Christmas or New Years' Day fall on a Sunday or Monday, time off in lieu of the half day before Christmas and New Years Day will be provided. When one of the above-named Statutory Holidays falls during an employee's approved vacation period, he shall be allowed an extra day's vacation.
Working Day Before and Day After. The Employer will pay time and one-half (1 1/2) the actual number of hours worked, but not to exceed eight (8) hours, to all bargaining unit employees who perform work on the following holidays: New Years Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Work performed on all other holidays (i.e. holidays other than the 5 listed as time and one-half holidays) will be paid for at straight time. In order to be eligible to receive time and one-half holiday pay for work performed on one or more of the above identified five (5) holidays, an employee must work his/her last full scheduled work day before the time and one-half holiday and his/her next full scheduled work day after the time and one-half holiday. If a bargaining unit employee does not work both his/her last full scheduled work day before and after the time and one-half holiday, the employee will receive only straight time pay for all work performed on the so-called time and one-half holiday. Any bargaining unit employee who calls in sick on a scheduled holiday, will be required to use unscheduled earned time for the day provided the employee is otherwise qualified to be paid for the holiday.
Working Day Before and Day After. In order to qualify for payment for any holidays designated above, the employee must work their scheduled work day immediately prior to and their scheduled work day immediately following the holiday, unless absent for just cause.
