XXXX Check. A ball check shall be provided within 15” aft or outboard of the transducer well. The ball shall weigh a minimum of 20 lbs and shall extend down to 60 ft below the hull. The cabling shall be controlled by a hand crank reel. The reel shall be located inside of the cabin near the surveyor’s station. The reel shall be located directly above the ball check to avoid 90 degree bends in the cabling. Stainless steel piping shall be used in all piping angles to prevent the ball check wire from wearing out the piping.
